I've grown as an artist in the past two years, and I thought I should start a new sketchbook to honour that. if any of you read my book, the drawings here may be the reason why updates haven't arrived XD

Her favourite colour is green and she dreams of one day visiting the forest. But why is her background purple? Because it's Eight's favourite colour! I did a little switcheroo there >:)

I've dreamed of drawing her for so long, I think she's my favourite AntWing colour-wise besides Lady Atta. Coppery scales with the freckles is just so cute! I think I'm going to include a version without the shading because a lot of the colour nuance is lost when I add the lighting. I tend to lean towards realism in my own style and that ends up changing the colour of the dragons based on how light or dark their environment is. I don't know how other artists do it without completely changing the dragon's looks. Maybe just lighter? Better colour picking in general? Use only white light? But white light is boring, I want more Princess and Frog! (my professor's code for colourful light sources). I also really am looking at Aegean's style a lot (they're from YT, please check them out if you haven't already!) and it is just amazing every time I see it. It looks like really soft shading and lighting? I'll try it out next time, see how it looks in my style.

Also, I try not to treat my dragons as cool and special too much because I think that in the Wings of Fire world there are just a lot of average dragons flying around. Or walking, in the AntWing's case. Of course, I try to give everyone their own unique twist but even that comes with moderation. Dragons like RainWings and SilkWings, however, are the exceptions to this. RainWings for obvious reasons and SilkWings because there are a LOT of butterflies out there and I tend to design them after their names :)
