jisung laid in his bed with his eyes halfway closed as he listened to some of his favorite songs. he just got off the phone with his mother as she begged him to update her on his new life. he didn't tell her everything, but enough to give her a peace of mind. he promised he would visit during the holiday break.

it had already been 3 months since jisung started going to this school and he couldn't believe how fast time had gone by. nor could he believe how many friends he had already made.

well...maybe just one friend. he didn't know if jaemin counted or not. which is why he didn't tell his mother the truth about who his awesome "roommate" was.

jisung tried keeping in touch with his old friends, but it was just different now. they seemed to have changed more than he did in such a short period of time and it seemed they didn't have much to talk about.

and as much as jisung wanted to feel sad about it, he was to tired and stressed out to really care.

midterm finals were coming up and as much as jisung tried to tell himself he was going to start caring more about his academic life, he would just end up making plans with jeno.

which is exactly what was going on now.

when jisung fully opened his eyes and sat up in his room, he checked his messages to see jeno begging him to tag along with him to watch another one of jaemin's weekly basketball games. which jisung accidentally forgot about.

even though jaemin seemed to be warming up to jisung, he still felt awkward to be around him sometimes. for that reason, jisung constantly stayed cautious whenever they were together. he didn't want to accidentally say or do something stupid and set their "friendship" farther back.

it didn't take long for jeno to start spamming him messages once he stopped replying, so jisung prepared himself for a call.

his phone rang and after jisung purposely let it ring four or five times, he answered. but with the phone far away from his ear.

"don't ignore me mid conversation jisung!" jeno yelled.

"i wasn't. i was just thinking if i would rather spend my time studying, or going to another one of jaemin's games."

jeno scoffed. "you say that every weekend and end up going."

"and every time i do, jaemin seems to always be disgusted at my presence." jisung joked. but he honestly wasn't. school jaemin and and rommate jaemin was a completely different person.

he wasn't always the jaemin that helped jisung dye his hair black when be first got here. he always seemed on edge.

"and yet his team has won every game you've come to, so you must not be thaaat unlucky of a person."
