"You should see the snow here, it's coming down pretty heavy!" I squeeled down the phone excitedly. Jacky knew how much I loved snow and he tutted. "Well it's hot here Dev, are you definitley coming to visit next week?" I walked into the kitchen

"I hope so, would be great to see everyone again but it depends." I sighed into the phone

"On what, come on babe, I really want to see you!" I hadn't had the guts to tell Jacky I had a new boyfriend yet. Even though the two of us had moved on and decided it was for the best it still felt like he didn't agree. "Seeing you on New years would be amazing though don't you think? Bringing in the new year over here?" I had to agree, the boys were going to be spending New years in New York and I have always wanted to do that. I turned to the door to see my boyfriend stood there "I have to go but I'll call you later to let you know if I'll be coming or not" I said goodbye and went over to my boyfriend "Who were you talking to?" He asked me as I wrapped my arms around his waist

"Oh just Jacky" I'd told him about Jacky and he seemed to understand however he didn't really like the fact that we were still friends. "Was he asking you to go over there?" I nodded into his chest "You know I wouldn't like that don't you?" I rolled my eyes

"You know me and Jacky are just friends, plus you're going to London to spend it with your mates so I don't see why I can't spend it with my friends, I haven't seen them in over a year!" I groaned pouting a little and giving him my best puppy dog eyes. He looked away "I don't want to spend new years alone!" I whined

"Then spend it with your parents" he let go of me and walked over to the fridge.

Part of me understands why he won't let me go but he knows I love him, I've not seen Jacky or anyone in 14 months. It would only be for a couple of weeks. I sat down on the couch in our living room and grabbed my diary to see when I was next at work with the agency but I had been given the whole of December off and didn't need to be back until mid January now. I'd made sure that my boss told everyone I was fully booked during December. Really I just wanted a nice Christmas with my boyfriend and then I had planned to go over to America this Friday for new year. I mean I had everything sorted out. I had accomodation and a lift from the airport, all I needed to do was convince my boyfriend and book my flight. I chewed at my nail thinking how I could do this I had tried everything to get him to see it would be fine. I grabbed the laptop from the coffee table and typed in the airline website. There was a cheap flight leaving Friday afternoon. My boyfriend would be leaving on Friday too so I could drop him off at the coach station before going and he won't even know I'm gone... Until he get's back and realises I'm not there. I booked the flights quickly and cleared the history of the laptop so there was no way he could see. I had two days to prepare ready for my trip. "I'm just poping out!" I shouted from the couch to my boyfriend

"Okay!" I heard him shout back as he was concentrating on preparing some sort of food for us. I grabbed my phone and went down to the bottom floor and stood in the doorway watching the snow fall "Hello"

"Hey Jacky, I'm coming" I said to him I heard him chuckle

"I knew you would! When are you getting here?"

"Erm my flight leaves Friday afternoon" I replied

"I'll be there to meet you when you get off of the plane, text me the details okay?"

"I will I better go so I'll speak to you Friday" I put the phone down and went back upstairs.

"Where you been babe?" Caleb asked I sat next to him

"Just went to look at the snow" I replied grabbing the remote and changing the channel "What time are you heading out on Friday then?" I asked him as I flicked through the movie channels

"Well my coach leaves at 11am" I looked over at him

"I'll drop you off and just go straight to my Mum's then" I replied quickly he looked at me

"So you've decided to go to your Mum's then?" I nodded

"I have nothing else to do" I shrugged and put the remote down on the arm of the chair. Caleb  grabbed me and pulled me into his lap "Thank you for listening to me, I would have struggled through new year if you had gone, I would have been worrying so much if you were in a different country you're not familiur with" I bit my lip

"Yeahhhh" I trailed off before asking him what he was cooking. He smiled at me as I looked up at him with inquisitive eyes he kissed me and I kissed him back before I got up to go see what was cooking "Oh beans on toast again" I thought looking at the toast sticking out of the toaster and the beans bubbling in the pan on the stove. I rolled my eyes and walked back to the living room "You're burning the beans" I said simply before sitting back on the couch and watching him rush into the kitchen.

He returned a little bit later with a plate which he handed to me "Would be nice if we could have something other than toast for a change" I mumbled but so he could hear

"I'm sorry Deven, you've had the past 3 weeks off and I've been working hard trying to get us some money and all you've been doing is sitting on your ass and occasionally speaking to your ex on the phone!" I rolled my eyes

"Like I said we are friends Caleb" I replied showing him that I was annoyed that after a year he still thinks I love Jacky...I love him yeah but not like in a dating way in like a close friend way. He meant a lot to me but I managed to get over him and we managed to stay friends. "A friend you would go all the way to America for!"

"There's more than just Jacky out there Caleb, his band mates are good friends and also I have a couple of other friends out there"

"Are they all guys too?" he questioned sarcastically

"No!" I shouted starting to get really frustrated "I told you I wasn't going to go so what is your problem now?" I asked him looking him dead in the face. He crumpled his face up and carried on eating.
