Two months have passed and Josh has moved into my apartment with me for the first time, it's been rocky at some points but amazing at the same time.
Tonight we were going to have dinner at my parents house and the nervousness was in us of both.
"Josh your not gonna make a wrong impression I promise you" I said to Josh while he was standing in the mirror fixing his wet hair.
I came up behind him and wrapped my arms around him and left a kiss on his shoulder. He was standing in only a towel that was close to falling off his body.
"I'm scared that I'm gonna too" Josh explained to me and looked at us in the mirror.
"What are you scared of Josh? You can tell me" I said to Josh wanting to make him feel comfortable to talk to me like how we usually do.
"It's your dad...I'm scared I won't be good enough for him because I'm not what he wanted for his daughter" Josh explained to me as he turned around and looked at me full of silence.
"Josh... Your perfect for me and if my dad does anything to you we can leave, if you feel uncomfortable we can leave and come home" I said to Josh putting my hand on his face and leaning over to kiss his forehead. He was taller than me so it hard to kiss his forehead with both of us standing up.
"You promise?" Josh asked one more time just to make sure he heard me right.
"I promise Josh I promise" I said to Josh once again.
Me and Josh finished getting ready and headed out the door not fully prepared for the somewhat long ride to my childhood home. While Josh was driving he kept his hand either on my thigh or simply just holding my hand.
"Are you okay Josh?" I asked him looking over at him while he was driving being very careful and focused on the road.
"I'll be okay there's nothing to worry about" Josh answered I could tell he didn't want to have this conversation again.
We drove in silence Josh would talk from time to time but not how he usually would.
When we pulled into the driveway some of my siblings came to meet me and Josh outside, they ran up to us and both of us was embraced with hugs and questions about everything.
Josh seemed to catch on pretty quickly with my youngest brother, seeing him talk with him made my heart warm.
"See Josh my family does like you" I said to Josh smiling leaving a kiss on his lips while we walked to the door.
"This is just the easy part" Josh joked with me as he opened the front door and let me in.
Once we got in I could hear my mom in the kitchen cooking food and the stuff she already cooked was out on the table. Josh stayed close to me and followed me in the kitchen, he was afraid I was going to toss him in there with my dad and leave him alone with him.
"Mom this is Josh my boyfriend I've been telling you about" I said to my mom introducing Josh to her.
Josh gave my mom a warm smile then giving her a hug, he was big into physical touch so him hugging my mom wasn't a surprise.
"Nice to meet you Josh" my mom replied to Josh.
Minutes passed and my mom and Josh started having a conversation, she wanted to know what Josh done for a living, where does he see himself in five years, and how does he treat me. Josh gave my mom well thought out answers probably why he was quite in the car.
When it was time to eat dinner Josh sat down next to me and my sister, he talked to everyone outside of my dad.
I guess because he knew how my dad treated me growing up he didn't care much to talk to him but sometimes he did because he doesn't like for people to feel left out.
