Xiao x Aether Oneshots ❤️

Seeing Him

The beautiful blonde Traveler was on his way to see his lovely Yaksha once again. He had just finished most of his commissions for the day and was excited to see Xiao.

Aether would always visit Xiao every day with a gift or a plate of almond tofu, but either way, he always had something to give Xiao.

He came up the elevator and smiled sweetly at Verr, who always greeted him when he came. She offered to watch Paimon as she always did, and Aether made his way up to the balcony.

Aether called Xiaos' name and waited for him for a moment it was quiet, and the breeze felt nice as he looked out at liyue. He was so lost in thought he didn't notice Xiao was already behind him until he felt something warm on his neck.

It was Xiaos' warm breath. He was looking over my shoulder to see what I had, I just smiled while handing him the plate of almond tofu. I watched Xiao eat it gratefully and then began telling him about my day in great detail.

Xiao seemed to be listening like he always does. He finished his food and I finished telling him my stories soon after that.

The adepti looked at me with an emotionless expression that he always had then nodded.

"Is this all you wanted to tell me?" Xiao said softly, but it still made my heart flutter. His voice was like music to my ears. So serious yet so calm.

~~~~~~ No Ones POV ~~~~~~

Aether nodded, and Xiao went over to the railings of the balcony. He sat on the edge and let his legs dangle in between the rails as he looked out at the beautiful land in front of them. Aether came and sat next to him, leaving a comfortable space between them. He didn't want to get too close to Xiao so he wouldn't get uncomfortable.

About 2 hours had passed of them just talking about whatever comes to mind as they watched the sunset. It was mainly just Aether talking, but he didn't mind. He actually appreciated that Xiao listened to him when he talked. It made Aether love him more.

After some time, Xiao stood up and turned the other way. "I shall take my leave now. See you tomorrow, Traveler." And he was gone.

Aether smiled to himself as he kept staring out at the view. Soon, he got up too and left. This is always his favorite part of his day.

This was their daily routine every day. Aether would finish his commissions and visit Xiao. They would talk and watch the sunset then say their goodbyes. Aethers journeys have been getting a little rough, though, and Xiao has noticed him coming back with more scratches and bruises each day.

Xiao didn't realize it, but he was beginning to feel worried for the Traveler. Aether always made excuses for them, though, but Aether always seemed tired now.

~~~~~~ Xiaos POV ~~~~~~~

I sat on the roof of wangshu-inn, waiting for Aether like always. When he came, I noticed he seemed a bit happy but nervous too. I teleported behind Aether when I heard my name being called. I look at with him a confused look while crossing my arms.

"Hello Xiao! Today, I found this cool river, and it had these beautiful looking rocks. Here I got you one!" Aether smiled at me as he put his hand out to give me a beautiful shiny rock. It was a tealish, grayish color. I have to admit it did look a little nice.

"It's.. beautiful Aether." I mumbled a bit, but he was able to hear me because he did turn a bit red after my sentence. He smiled, and I started to notice he couldn't stand still. My suspicions grew.

"Ae-" I was immediately cut off. "I found her!" He said excitedly while jumping around a bit with joy. My eyes widened a bit, and questions filled my head. Found who?

"Well.. I didn't find her but I know where she's gonna be tomorrow and I'm gonna meet up with her! She wants to see me!" Aether said with more joy and looked out at the grasslands. "Xiao.. I'm finally gonna see my sister. We will be able to be together again! And travel together once more."

After he said that, my heart dropped, and I felt a stinging pain in my chest. What is this feeling? I don't understand it.

Aether looked at me with a bright smile and came over to me. I felt a bit nervous as he came closer but I didn't move. He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me for the first time. It felt.. nice? I didn't expect it to feel so.. warm.

We stayed like this for a long moment, or that's what it felt like before Aether pulled away and cleared his throat. "Well- I should go get some rest. I have to go all the way to mondstat tomorrow, and that's gonna be a long walk. I wanna be ready so I won't be as tired when I get to the place I'm meeting my sister at!"

I nodded and turned away from him. My thoughts were going wild, but I held in my emotions. "See you.. Tomorrow, Traveler. Have a good night." I hope I see him tomorrow.."
