~~~~~~ Xiaos POV ~~~~~~

Aether has been really moody lately. Like everything I do is wrong to him in some odd way. It's weird and extremely annoying at the same time but I try not to argue with him or make things worse. I am better at controlling my temper unlike him which is unusual.

He's usually really calm and happy and if any accidents happen then he handles it well. I seriously don't know what's up with him but he need to chill. Oh but don't tell him that because then he'll blow up in your face and throw things at you for absolutely no reason! It's happened once and I'm never opening my mouth about it again. Well I wouldn't say never again but not for a long minute.

Yesterday he got mad at me for putting the peanut butter in the wrong cabinet. How can he get mad at me for that!? I literally had a rough shift at work and very much sleep deprived. Usually he would be understanding but I don't understand why he was being such a jerk. When I tried to explain that it was an accident and that I was just tired he accused me of guilt tripping him?

God I'm so tired. Today we have to go to his parents house for lunch. I wonder how that's gonna turn out..

~~~~~~ No Ones POV ~~~~~~

Xiao and Aether arrived at Aethers parents house. Aether was already on Xiaos ass about how he was driving. Xiao was honestly fed up but held in his anger because they were at his parents for fuck sakes.

The two walked up to the door and knocked on it. Aethers mom opened the door with a loving and warm smile, something Xiao hasn't gotten from Aether in weeks. Lumine was also there since she was invited to lunch too. She hugged her brother then hugged Xiao.

"Nice to see you two again! I've missed you Aether!!" She smiled and Xiao smiled back but Aether gave her a small smile instead of what he usually gives, Lumine picked up on that almost immediately. "Yea.. we almost wouldn't have made it if this dumbass could drive stright." He snickered and Lumine looked at him surprised.

He's never spoken about anyone like that except Lumine jokingly. Xiao glared at him but took a deep breath before walking into the kitchen to help Aethers parents. Aether just rolled his eyes as he left. "What was that?" Lumine stared at her brother.

"What was what?" - A

"Why were you speaking about him like that? Are you guys fighting?" - L

"No. He's just been doing a lot of things wrong lately and I'm sick of it honestly." Aether rolled his eyes again and Lumine looked at him surprised. She decided to change the subject and lighten the mood a bit. Xiao heard everything though. He felt hurt that his lover spoke about him like that. Now he really thought that he is doing everything wrong.

In the kitchen Aethers mother noticed how gloomy Xiao looked and unfocused he was. "Xiao? You okay dear?" She frowned.

"Y-yes I'm fine.." and that was the end of the conversation since she didn't want to push anything. Their dad came down and hugged Aether when he saw him. Once everything was ready Xiao helped set the table and everyone sat down at the table.

"It looks amazing as always mother!" Lumine smiled at her mom.

"Agreed. You are a wonderful cook ma'am." Xiao smiled then Aether suddenly scoffed.

"You always have something to say when it comes to complimenting others. You can't even cook this well." He said as he didn't look up at anyone. Everyone was surprised at how he spoke to his husband but Xiao just seemed embarrassed and put his head down. "Awh thank you Xiao. That's sweet of you. You know-" She began talking and others joined in on the conversation. Xiao didn't talk much though.

Some time went by and everything was going smoothly now. Aether seemed to be in a better mood after talking with everyone. It made Xiao seem less afraid to say or do anything. After lunch Xiao and Aether helped put up everything and clean up. In the kitchen Xiao brought Aether some dishes since he was already at the sink doing them. He handed him a plate but as soon as he let go it slipped out of Aethers hand.

Aethers eyes widened then he glared up at Xiao as the plate shattered on the floor. "You idiot! Why did you let go of it!?" He yelled at Xiao as he bent down to pick up the glass with his husband. The two argued a bit but it was mostly Aether scolding him. Xiao tried to reason with him and get him to stop going off on him but he just wouldn't listen to him. It escalated quickly and Lumine came into the kitchen with the two, trying to calm Aether down who was basically arguing with himself at this point.

"What is with you!? Why are you so mad at me lately? Everything I do is wrong to you! Why are you so angry with me!" Xiao finally yelled back at Aether who moved Lumine out of the way and slapped him hard across his face. It was loud. Everyone got quiet. Xiao was now trembling as he held his hand up to his stinging red cheek. It burned like hell but that wasn't what hurt the most. Aether had hurt him. Something he promised him never to do.

Aether was still glaring at him for a moment until he realized what he did. His eyes widened as he looked at the mark on Xiaos cheek. Xiao felt tears well up in his eyes but before he could cry he quickly left. He went outside to the backyard and sat on the steps to the porch. Aethers mom watched the boy leave before storming into the kitchen with an upset expression.

"What happened!?" - M

"W-we were arguing and.." Aether didn't finish the story. He was too ashamed to.

"Why are you two arguing in my house?? You should've handle this at home before bring it here. I heard a smacking sound. Did you hit him?" She stared at her son and he just nodded with a frown.

"I suggest you two go home and fix this now. Me and Lumine can clean this up ourselves. Go home Aether." She said in a cold tone before going to finish cleaning. She didn't mean to be mean at all. Lumine looked at her brother who looked back at her. She then left to help her mom. Aether gathered his and Xiaos things and went ousting to tell him that they were leaving. They got in the car and drove home.

The car ride was silent. Xiao was driving but Aether said nothing about it. He didn't have a single comment to say. Once they got home Xiao got out of the car and went inside before Aether. Aether stood by the car for a moment thinking about what he did before going inside as well.

He didn't see Xiao anywhere. He went upstairs to their room to find the door locked. He sighed and quietly knocked on the door.

"Xiao? Please let me in.. I'm sorry for hitting you. I didn't mean to..." Aether said in a sincere tone. Xiao didn't respond for a long time. Eventually he opened the door and Aether immediately noticed the tears streaming down his cheeks. His left cheek was bruised which made it worse. Aether wrapped his arms around his lover and they both fell to their knees, holding onto eachother.

"W-why are you so *hic*  mad at me *hic* Aether? What *hic* did I do..?" Xiao sobbed in his arms.

Aether stroked Xiaos hair gently to calm him down "I'm so sorry my love.. I was mad at the world and I was taking it out on you."

Xiao continued to sob until he eventually fell asleep. He was tired from his shift still from yesterday. Aether carried him to the bed and the two cuddled up with eachother. When Xiao woke up Aether wasn't in the bed anymore. It was almost dark outside. Xiao went downstairs to look for Aether and found him in the kitchen making almond tofu.

Aether smiled at him and Xiao cane from behind and hugged him gently while placing small kisses on his neck.
