"So how's school going ladies?" My pops asked Jayda & I as we sat across from him at hide, enjoying our little lunch date
"Pretty good so far pops." Jayda answered first "Ready to get this sh.. stuff." She said quickly correcting herself "over with."
"How long you got now?"
"After this semester I'll only have two more left.. I'll be graduating next December."
"Oh that's not long at all... what are you plans after graduation?"
"Honestly.. Imma take this business degree & everything I've learned these last 4 years & try to expand my waydamin brand more. Right now I have a good amount of customers but I want it to be bigger & better."
"How big you talking?"
"Big big. I'm talking own warehouse, pop up shops, store fronts, website type big. I wanna have a variety of things to offer not just for the ladies but for the men's as well. I wanna sell lounge pieces, track suites, shirts, hats, dresses.. all that."
"I can see that for you.. & if you really serious about it that's something I'll be willing to invest in."
"Really?" Jayda asked him
"Definitely.. Write me out a business plan by graduation & I got you... that'll be Mama Alicia & I's graduation gift to you... Destiny can come up with her own gift."
"Which isn't a problem sir." I spoke
"I love & appreciate y'all so much man." Jayda said "Especially you. You've been the only father figure I've had in my life for years now.."
"We love you too Jayda. Even though you annoy the shit outta us most times..." he said causing us all to laugh "You been around for so damn long now people actually think you my daughter forreal. I remember when y'all was growing up asking Alicia one time did you ever go home, every time I looked up you was at our house eating or sleeping."
"Ok not to much on my bestfriend." I said
"Exactly... not to much pops. Y'all house use to be the spot though. Not gone lie."
"I know... Destiny. How school going?"
"It's going.." I said before stuffing my mouth with a fork full of Alfredo
"What you mean it's going? You been going to class & stuff right.. your momma & I ain't paying all this money for you to be down here in Atlanta just goofing around."
