The next morning Quinn woke up to a soft knock at her door. She blinked her eyes a few times and rolled to face it.
"Come in." She groaned, sleepily.
She watched the door open and Black slip inside. He slowly prowled closer to her, sitting on the edge of her bed.
"How are you feeling, love?" He asked, softly.
"I'm okay. I'm just tired. I think I just needed to rest from my travels is all." She smiled.
He brushed her hair out of her face and kissed her forehead.
"We'll get up sleepy head, we have work to do!" He cheered.
She raised an eyebrow at him and sat up, stretching her arms above her head.
"Our prisoner is no longer caged. I looked into his family and his father was basically the dark lords right hand man, so I figured he would be good to have around. He probably knows a lot of people and can give good insight." Black explained. "He will be living here and i need you to show him around."
Quinn's stomach dropped and a lump formed in her throat.
"Can't Thomas do it?" She asked, trying not to sound too nervous.
"I would but I need him for something else. We have a shipment coming in and I need him to help me sort things out."
"Shipment?" Quinn asked.
"Don't worry about it love, it's none of your concern. So I need you to take Mr.Malfoy around and show him how we do things here. I want him to start on cleaning duty and he can work his way up. Let him know I will be fetching him every now and then when I need him but other than that he is to keep his head down and stay out of my way." Black stood up and headed towards the door. "And one more thing."
Quinn crawled out of bed and turned to him, her heart beating so fast she could feel it in her feet.
"Remember, I love you." He winked, then he was gone.
Quinn's legs began to shake. She swallowed hard and slowly walked to her vanity, dropping down onto the seat and staring at her reflection. Her face was as white as paper and sweat was forming on her forehead. She truly felt sick now.
'I guess it's time to face this' she thought to herself as she began to get dressed.
She walked down the hall and stopped at the top of the stairs. She began to hold her breath and slowly descend, heading to the kitchen. By the time she reached the kitchen door her lungs were screaming. She finally released her breath and stepped into the kitchen. She saw the cook, doing his normal dance around the kitchen, cooking and cleaning.
"Good morning miss!" The cook smiled at her. "Eggs and toast okay?"
Quinn smiled and nodded. As she went to walk closer, the door behind her opened.
"Good morning love!" She cheered, twirling around to give Black a kiss.
Her heart stopped. Her breath caught and her knees almost buckled.
"Draco." She breathed.
Draco's eyes grew large. His face paled and his jaw dropped.
"Quinn- qui- but- how?" Draco stuttered.
He jumped forward, grabbing her face in his hands. Quinn almost melted at his touch. She felt electricity coarse through her body like she was coming back to life. Then, she remembered where she was. She pushed him away and stepped back.
"No." She whispered.
"Quinn? What happened? How are you-"
"I am supposed to show you around today." Quinn cleared her throat and stood up straight.
She knew she had to explain everything to him but not here, not in front of people.
"Fuck that!" Draco shouted. "How are you here? Talk to me!"
Draco stepped towards her again but Quinn turned and grabbed a plate off the counter. It was filled with eggs and toast, buttered and hot.
"We will begin after breakfast." She said sternly and walked into the dining room.
She stopped at the door, turned her head to look at him over her shoulder and nodded.
"If you could JUMP into action then I could JUMP on the work we have today." She muttered, praying to Merlin he understood what she was trying to say.
He stood up straight, fixed his shirt and turned his face to stone. She knew he caught on and made her way to the table, still feeling his touch on her face. She loved him so much it almost killed her....
She loves him so much it WILL kill her.
