A/N: Welcome back!!!! This time, we are at Fall of the Heroes!! This chapter will be heart-wrenching, let me tell ya! This chapter will probably be short, too. Don't know how short, but we'll see!! Let's get to it. I own NOTHING, except for my OC, and Alex belongs to Malrog_the_dragon ! Also, four more chapters left!!
(Siera's POV-In the air)
As soon as Jake says those words to Norm about getting out of the battlefield while the ground forces are getting hammered, I spot the Dragon, and Jake steers Toruk away, and I do the same to Tsu'llu as we keep Quaritch and his Dragon on our toes. I can feel the missiles like flames licking at my back as they're almost too close for comfort.
"That's them! Get after them!" Quaritch says as we split up, and a Scorpion breaks away to pursue me and Tsu'llu while Jake and Toruk get chased by the Dragon. I then spot Neytiri and Seze as they're getting pursued by a Scorpion.
"Take them out!" I hear Quaritch yell, only to hear the gunshots of a Samson.
A Samson with blue and white paint then comes out of nowhere, shooting at the Dragon before it could continue pursuing myself or Jake.
Trudy.
"Oops," she says, as she flies in front of the Dragon's periphery. At least she gave Jake and myself time to escape for now. I then hear Quaritch yell out,
"Light her up!" Trudy starts firing her mounted guns from her Samson at the Dragon.
"Right there!" Quaritch yells just before more bullets hit the cockpit.
"You're not the only one with a gun, bitch." Trudy says. Quaritch is getting pissed, I know he is, as he yells to his pilot,
"Keep her in your sights!" The pilot answers,
"Purging. Feeding the leak." Quaritch then starts flipping switches and says,
"Arming all pods!"
Trudy then keeps shooting, only for the Dragon's missile to hit the side of her rotor. Quaritch seems to grin as he watches the flames on Trudy's rotor.
"That's it!" He yells.
My biggest question is:
Where is Alex??? I then steer Tsu'llu away so I can look for him. I just hope he didn't get shot down. I then hear gunshots and I gasp, watching as Wainfleet in an AMP suit taking out Neytiri's Ikran, Seze. Thankfully as she falls, she looks uninjured, but as she hisses slightly, she looks up.
"Seze!" She calls out. Moaning in concern, she races to her Ikran's side, but sadly, Seze is dead. I shake my head in disbelief. I then look around to see Tsu'tey jumping off his Ikran and into the open ramp of a Valkyrie gunship, hitting soldiers with his bow as he does. As I fly past, I hear the gunshots, and Tsu'tey falling to his death, then I see another Na'vi falling just as he leaps off his Ikran. I then hear Trudy over comms,
"Rogue One is hit, going in." She flips some more switches on her controls, like she was doing before, then says, "sorry, Jake." I then hear Quaritch say,
"Fire." I watch in horror as the missile hits Trudy's Samson and it gets destroyed. I then fly higher so I don't have to hear the ground forces get decimated by the Scorpions. Are we destined to fail?
"Siera! Siera, this is Alex, do you read me, Ma Siera?" I then hear a familiar voice over comms.
"Alex?" I say. "I read you. What's going on?" Alex just shakes his head.
"Don't worry about me. I'm fine. I broke away from you earlier to help out Norm. His Avatar is dead, Siera." I gasp. No! Not his Avatar. I grit my teeth as Tsu'llu cries out, seeming to hear my thoughts. I just nod.
"Alright, where are yah? M' comin' ta pick yah up." I tell him. Alex then shakes his head.
"No need." He says as he flies up on his Ikran. He looks a bit disheveled, his paint seems to have smeared a bit, but other than that, he looks uninjured, which is really good. I pull him in for a kiss. He seems shocked, but doesn't say anything, just kisses me back.
"What's our situation?" He asks me.
"Neytiri is down on the ground, Seze is dead, so is Tsu'tey," I say. Alex's eyes widen.
"No...." He says, then he lowers his eyes then looks up.
"Contact with Jake?" He asks. I shake my head.
"Not yet. 'M gonna join 'im in blowin' up tha' Valkyrie shuttle 'fore it gets ta the Tree of Souls." He nods to me.
"Do it." He says to me. I nod then I take off after Jake.
"Tsu'tey!" I hear him say in comms. "Brother, do you read? Rogue One, you copy? Trudy?" I then fly up at his side.
"Let's go. They're gone." I say to him. He notices the look on my face, but doesn't say anything more. Instead, we just fly off in pursuit of the Valkyrie to take it out before it hits the Tree of Souls.
"Time to target, two minutes." The pilot of the Dragon says as they start getting closer to the Tree of Souls. We are running out of time. We have to hurry.
"Valkyrie 1-6, you are cleared and hot." Quaritch says. I grit my teeth. Hell no, bastard.
"Copy, Dragon. We are starting our bomb run." The pilot of the Valkyrie craft says. The soldiers inside start to move the bomb close to the ramp again as it gets ever closer to the Tree of Souls.
"Arm number one." A soldier says, as another soldier then arms the first bomb.
"Number one armed!" He calls out. I can just see Mo'at at the bottom. By Eywa, I hope she knows we are doing whatever we can to ensure that this shuttle doesn't get close to the Tree of Souls.
