In a world where soulmates exist.... Everyone wants to find theirs at some point. They fail or succeed. Once you reach the age of 16 you'll find something related to your soulmate- or something that will connect you to them.
The most reliable thing you can get is a thin red string on your pinky. Only you will be able to see your string along with only your soulmates.
Loneliness is something everyone feels. That's what causes them to look for their fated partner. Some are busy while others are carefree and don't focus on a mate at the current time.
If you're lucky enough, you can get a notebook and a pen to communicate with your soulmate. That happens once in a blue moon though.
This is a serious matter but there are some occasions where people joke with it. Such as joking that the thing that links another soulmate is a frying pan. This may mess up their RNG luck and make them have an item worse such as a single half-sticky note.
One's fate shouldn't be messed with. Not even by gods themselves.
