Despite tiring themselves of their wild goose chase, the quartet still manages to get themselves up and early for school, promising each other to have a meetup this recess about last night's events, especiallly about Ivory and Deirdre's newfound abilities. After nods and exchanges of a "See you later", Deirdre prayed that she wouldn't see Bianca so she could get to Magic Arts way early before the class starts as she passed through the busy corridors full of either groggy or energetic students.
Without a glimpse of the girl, the brunette lets out a sigh of relief as she opens the door to her classroom to find Xavier all alone, his hair in a half-up, half-down hairdo and his back against her as he paints what appears to be a dark scenary with colors of faded grey, navy blue and forest green.
When Deirdre crept up behind him quietly, she noticed a figure in the painting, with their backs turned as they held one hand up, shooting out a bright, yellow branch out of their palms towards a bigger shadow in front of them. For some reason, the picture speaks to her in a way; as if it's telling her that this scene is going to happen soon. Although it gave her slight shivers, she makes herself known to the boy by speaking softly to make sure she doesn't accidentally surprise him; "That's quite an interesting piece you got there."
"Hm?" Xavier turned around and nods, taking a quick breath the moment he sees Deirdre smiling at his canvas, "Oh Dee, hi- uh- thanks, it's just a.. recollection of a random dream i had last night."
"A random dream, huh," Deirdre chuckles as she grabbed a chair and sat next to the boy, "I'd believe that, if i didn't know you were a psychic."
Xavier chuckled along, shaking his head slightly as he added a few more strokes onto his canvas, "It's not like these are prophecies of what's bound to happen, dreams make no sense most of the time."
"I mean.. you never know!" the girl shrugged, "Dreams usually have a meaning to them."
"You think?" the boy glanced from his painting to the girl next to him with a grin on his face, "So if i had dreamt about a frog wearing a top hat while riding a unicycle, would that be symbollic?"
"Well that's.. oddly specific.." Deirdre's voice began to waver before she bursts out laughing, shaking her head as Xavier then joins in on her contagious laughter, "Believe me, that happened to me a few nights ago-!"
"What else did the frog do?" the girl held onto her stomach as she continues in a sing-song tone, "Did it sing; "Hello, my baby!~ Hello, my honey!~""
"Deirdre, stop it!" Xavier placed his paintbrush and his pallete away on the nearest desk, but due to how hard he was laughing, he had accidentally knocked a cup of brushes off the desk, sending them off to roll across the floor and caused the two to immediately falter their little titter as Xavier then got off his seat to recollect the brushes.
"Oh shit dude- wait, let me help-" Deirdre then kneeled down next to him, grabbing the fallen cup as well as a few more brushes around them. However, just as when the brunette placed her hand onto the last paintbrush, Xavier's hand went on top of hers and they both looked up to meet each other's eyes, their faces just inches away from each other.
As Deirdre's smile slowly begin to falter, she could feel the tips of her ears as well as her cheeks burning red the longer she stares at him; there was just something about his emerald eyes that had left the girl enchanted, almost in a dream-like trance.
So what about Xavier? boy was just as hypnotized; it could be because of the fact that the girl was a siren but it was just so hard for him to look away from those vibrant shades of sapphire in her gaze that was subliminaly urging the boy to lean towards her.
But before they could get any closer, they heard the door swinging open as it reveals a certain student, someone that Deirdre had prayed she wouldn't meet today;
Bianca froze in the middle of the doorway with her eyes glued at the two as a sudden heartache weighs heavily in her chest. She dug her fingernails into the palm of her hands as she forces a smile on her face, "Wrong. Class."
The girl quickly grabbed the doorknob and slammed the door close as a frantic Deirdre then quickly stumbles back on her feet, putting the cup of brushes onto the desk beside her before she dusted off her skirt and pressed her palms against her temples, tangling her fingers within the strands of her hair.
When Xavier noticed the girl's sudden panic, he got up and gently held the anxious brunette by her shoulders to stop her from pacing around the room. He asked softly as he started to feel worried himself, "Dee, is everything okay?"
To answer his question, Deirdre shook her head as all that came out of her mouth was a huff of a simple, three-worded phrase; "I am screwed."
