Raging On A Sunday ➳ Bohnes

With a bandaged cheek, Deirdre sat on her bed staring off into nothing, too lost in thought as she went through a mix of emotions; at first it was embarrassment from the way she failed a match, before it was then taken over by the sadness as she questions her skills and her sense of self.. then the last thing that came in was anger.
Deirdre gripped the sheets of the bed; she wasn't just mad at Bianca for pulling such a dirty trick, but she was also mad at herself for letting some mean girl get under her skin. She's usually secure in her own skin, confident; She knew better than this.
Feeling her eyes beginning to sting, Deirdre would slowly pull and hug her knees together, lowering her head as a soft sniffle left her; taking Vivian's attention from her phone as the girl would then sit beside her, wrapping her arm around her crying friend's shoulder as way to comfort her of the previous situation before eventually pulling her into a hug.
"It's alright, Dee," Vivian would sigh, her heart clenching at the sound of her gentle sobs as the girl in her arms would shake her head, "You didn't expect for her to pull that move; don't beat yourself up too much over that.."
"It's not that, It's just.."
Another choked sob left Deirde's lips before she quickly recollects herself in order to at least try to speak coherantly despite the growing lump in her throat,"It's.. It's all my fault; I promised her that I had nothing to do with Xavier but.."
The girl drew in a shaky breath, her grip around her best friend's figure slowly loosening as she spoke further,
"Bianca caught me hanging out with Xavier before Magic Arts; we talked for a moment, laughed and knocked his cup of brushes off the table- then we reached for the same brush and that was when she stepped in and saw both of us..""So she got jealous just because you both brushed hands?"
A sudden sense of growing irritation began to grow within Vivian's gut as she gave Deirdre one last squeeze just as the bell outside the school halls would ring; signifying the start of the next period."Vi.. you should head to class.." Desiree mumbles in attempt to switch the subjects as she would then slowly take her hands from her friend's back, leaning backwards until she'd eventually lay down onto the mattress, her head now on her pillow.
Vivian, on the other hand, wanted to protest and stay to keep the girl company but she knows that Deirdre might needed some time for herself; her heart aches for her friend, her russet red eyes gazing towards the girl's apathic expression to the white, square-shaped patch on her left cheekbone.
With a heavy sigh, Vivian nods and stood from the edge of Deirdre's bed, "..Okay, but I'll try to visit you with the others soon."
Deirdre simply gave her a nod, her eyes back to the ceiling as she watches Vivian leave from the corner of her eyes before she eventually laid on her side, her back facing the door as she let out a soft, shaky sigh. Her mind was in an absolute haze; the previous memory lingering, her shattered pride, her smile gone--the tears that she had tried to hold back and hide away from Vivian were finally beginning to fill her eyes.
However, thinking that she was alone just as the brunette was about to let her emotions spill free, a familiar, monotonous tone broke the silence; "You're quite pathetic."
Wednesday.
"All this crying would usually bring me joy, but knowing that it's all because you lost a game of fence, it's disappointing."
