Kyte and I walked through the long grass. I lent her my towel to wear. I tried to make some conversation, but she seemed really shy.

"I really like your name, Kyte, how is it spelt?"

"Um, K-Y-T-E, I guess."

"Oooh that's so cool!"

She smiled slightly. "Thanks."

"So, what brings you here?"

"Brings me where?"

"You know," I said, gesturing around me, to the forest and the field, "here."

"Oh, it's a long story."

We reached the caravan. I pulled Kyte onto a stool next to me. I plonked down on a rock next to her.

"Well, good thing I like stories!" I giggled and crossed my legs as she gave me the I-know-you-know look.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

She stared at me and sighed. "Lesbian is when a gir-"

"I know what lesbian is," I interrupted her, "I just don't know why your parents would disown you for it."

I heard Rhiannon and Luna chattering from inside the caravan.

"Hold on. Stay here Kyte." I smiled.

I walked into the caravan.

"Hey guys, I'm back!"

Rhiannon noticed me, "Perfect timing too! Let me show you our surpr-"

"No, wait! I need to show you my surprise first!"

The two girls looked confused.

"Luna, Rhiannon, meet Kyte. I met her at the lake."

Kyte slowly stepped into the doorway.

"Um, hi.." She murmured.

"Hey Kyte!"

"Oh my god, yes! Now more people can try my cake!"
