The Guilty Ones

Chapter 08

"Are you ok Miss Kira?"

His voice bought her back to her senses. She quickly moved away from him and straightened herself and node, yes to tell him she is ok.

"You should watch where you are headed Miss Kira because I will not be around every time to save you"

She didn't know how to react. He looks like he is in good mode. Khushi moved her head to the side and looked at the door behind her. Within a second Arnav turned around and closed the door.

Something is behind that door. He came out from that room and even before she could have a look he closed it. Khushi made a mental note to explore this room somehow.

"Curiosity killed the cat, Miss Kira. Now, what were you doing walking around with a tray?"

She took the tiny notebook she had in her pocket and wrote,

"I was trying to find the kitchen. I didn't want to be a burden for Rose, so thought to take it myself. That's the least I can do"

Arnav gestured to one of the housekeepers to clean the area and take the tray away. Then he looked at Khushi and before walking away said,

"If I were you, I'd go to my room and rest as advised. However, if you really wanted to make use of yourself, there is a library behind that door. Make sure you reach the destination you are supposed to reach, wandering here and there will lose the purpose"

Before Khushi could write a reply back, he walked away.

"Does he speak in riddles all the time?"

Wondering herself she climbed up to go to her room. Once she had a shower and change of clothes she walked back to the library ASR pointed.

"Well, it's not his office, but this is progress"

Thought Khushi while getting herself comfortable in a recliner with a book. She spent the whole morning in that library. ASR has impressive taste in books. The library was filled with autobiographies and a number of other genres apart from Romance. There wasn't a single book on love or romance.

"You just became more interesting Mr ASR"

She was lost in her reading until Rose came in and informed her that the lunch is ready. This reminded her of the plan. This will be a good time to execute her plan. She rushed to her room and took her second phone out.

Khushi always kept two phones. One she used for all most all the time and the second for emergencies. No one knew about this phone. Not even Akash.

"Rose, if it is fine by you can I have lunch outside my room? I am sick of being locked inside the room"

Khushi handed the note to Rose. Although Rose was a little taken aback at first, she understood where this woman is coming from.

"I'll bring my plate out and we'll have lunch together Miss Kira"

Both of them were sitting outside having their lunch when Khushi's phone beeped indicating she received an email. She put the plate aside and opened the email. Akash has done an amazing job drafting this email. Now it's her time to act.

"Miss Kira, is everything ok? You look like you've just seen a ghost"

Khushi sadly took her phone out and turned the screen towards Rose. Rose took a minute to read the email and she felt bad for the woman sitting next to her.

"I am so sorry Miss Kira, I wish there is something I can do for you"

Khushi took the notepad out and wrote the statement she had practised last night.
