"Hiccup! You have returned! And nice hostage you got there by the way" Tuffnut welcome Hiccup with open arms, literally as he drop harvest flowers and fruits onto the ground before running towards Hiccup to give him a hug but the mercenary wasn't having any of it and push the tall blonde male to the ground. Oddly enough he just laughed it off "same old hiccy"
"Call me that one more time and I will gut you" He semi serious, semi playfully threaten him. Again he laugh so Hiccup decided to ignore before walking up to the mage. He wore a black cassock, bulky sure but more onto the overweight catalogue, he had short blonde hair and he was very tall too, but rather short legs, how is gonna run with them, heck can he even ride a horse? Was it why this horse's legs broke? Fat jokes aside, Hiccup wonder how his face would look like because for now his back was facing.
His eyes wondered to his staff, he had seen them before and had fight them before too. Dealing with a mage was not a new encounter but a rather frequent ones and to fight an enemy, he studies them. He knows that all their staffs are made from the same material, wood that come from a magic welding tree called árbol and the tree itself is snow white so therefore every stuff is the same colour though the gems it held on the top can differ from size and color. For his it was yellow, and it emits a yellow aura around itself.
To take away a mage's staff is pointless as it doesn't whole any actual power, it only strengthen theirs but because it many mage's rely on it and when the two are separated, they are weaken. That is why mages with decade's of practices are trying their best to do magic without their staff's help. That is why Elsa is considered a formidable mage caster. In the mean time, It appears that this mage had no self awareness that a newcomer had arrived but however he only took notice of the dropped harvested flowers that Tuffnut had abandon minutes ago.
"I told you to be delicate with them! They have to be in the best condition in order for the spell to work you half wit troll!" the man turn around in anger and immediately Hiccup took in on his features, round face no surprise, blue eyes and a round nose and some freckles dusted lightly around his face. Well he wasn't ugly, that's for sure but having a handsome looking face is gonna save themselves from his daggers. He tap on his shoulder to which the man turned to look at him in surprise as he wasn't expecting a new face and one as dangerous looking as him.
"uh-huh-Hello there... Hehe. Didn't see you back there... Just who are you?" He nervous spill out and Hiccup wasn't impressed by how he held himself
"who am I? I should be asking you that cause it appears that our the only stranger here!" He fall back slightly before clearing his throat
"right-right! My apologies... I'm Fishlegs and fresh out of the mage acedemy... Erh at your service" The Fish man responded
"Fishlegs what kind of name is that?" Hiccup mocked the big man's name
"What kind of name is Hiccup?" Ruffnut butted in causing Hiccup to growl and Fishlegs to look at the mercenary questionly
"Your name is Hiccup?" and said man sigh before putting away his dagger, defeated by his own hypocrisy
"Well... I guess your not the only victim of a bad name. All that aside... Just what are all these!" Hiccup said while gesturing to the half dying horse. He looked at the others to get an answer, even turning to look at Elsa at some point but the Queen only avoided eye contact with him.. Did he offended her to hard that she was that mad to even look at him. Good job Hiccup you really done it this time.
"This horse is actually one of the spy's horse who him crash onto a boulder when he wasn't looking... The man died and the horse lived but in vain" Anna summarises and look sadly at the horse before stroking it's hair lightly.
