Vincent Giovanni

I've been waking up to Juliet kicking and screaming for almost a week now, and like routine, I wake up and wake her up and calm her down, she falls asleep and wakes up and pretends nothing has happened and today, I'm tired of pretending that this shit isn't happening, so I called Dr Linda, to come and talk to her about what she's going through.

"You are seeing Linda today and it's not up for discussion," I say, placing a cup of coffee in front of her.

"Vincent I –

"I said it's not up for discussion, you are having nightmares every night and I know you haven't been sleeping either, so YOU. ARE. GOING. TO. SEE. LINDA," I repeat breaking two eggs into the pan.

I sigh and turn to look at her, "Look, I'm sorry, I'm just worried about you okay."

She doesn't say a word, she just nods, and I know damn well that I've upset her. Time for evasive action.

"Do you want extra bacon?"

Juliet looks at me with anger laced in her eyes, I know how much she loves her bacon and can't resist when I offer her some.

"Yes," she mumbles.

"Awesome," I turn back to my eggs, and scramble them, and I walk to the fridge and take out another packet of bacon, ripping it open and putting them in another frying pan.

"How are Monica and Gio doing?" I ask.

"They are good, they asked if we could babysit on Sunday, they want to go on date," she says sipping on her coffee.

I grimace, "I'm not good with kids, amore, they can call Sarah to babysit for them."

"No offence I don't like that woman, so I'll handle AJ by myself,"

"What do you mean you don't like Sarah?"

"Well, first of all, she –

Ring, ring.

I picked up my phone and she said that it was Juan, "I have to take this baby,"

She gets up from the stool and walks over to the stove and I step away.

"Juan, what's up?"

'We have a problem boss,'

"What seems to be the problem, Juan?"

'It's the Dela Rosa capo, it's been taken over by the Russians, and our men are being held hostage, three kilometres from the port,'

"Fuck, assemble the team and make sure we have more marines and inform our coastal guards."

'Yes sir, I'm on it.'

"I'll be there in an hour,"

And hang up.

"Baby, I gotta go there has been a problem and I need to sort it out urgently, will you be okay on your own, until I get back, I won't be gone long,"

She smiles nervously, "Of course Vince, I'll be okay."

I kiss her forehead and then her lips and make my way upstairs, my driver picks up Gio and meets me outside my door in thirty minutes.

I get up to our room, take a shower and put on my clothes, black cargo pants, combat boots and a black polo neck. I open my secret cabinet and take out my weapons case and head back downstairs and find Juliet eating her breakfast. She sees me and she drops open.

"You'll get flies in your mouth babe," I chuckle as I walk over to her, I place my weapons case on the counter and steal a piece of bacon from her plate and eat it.

She closes her mouth and then glares at me, "Hey, you stole my bacon,"

"You can always make more bacon baby," I reply.

"By the way, you look so good," she smirks.

I chuckled, "You are not getting out of therapy my love she should be here any minute now,"

I hear the front door open and the sound of shoes walking in, "She's here."

I walk to the foyer with Juliet beside me and I'm greeted by Dr Linda, I lean down and hug her, wrapping my arm around her short frame.

"I'm so glad you could make it Linda," I say with a smile.

"One of my patients cancelled I shuffled things around to make time for Juliet," she says as she peers behind me to look at Juliet, who greets her with a nervous smile.

"How are you, Julie?"

Juliet shrugs, "I'm fine."

"I'll leave you two to talk, you can have your session in the living room, I'll have one of the housekeepers bring you some tea and coffee," I reply as I usher them into the room.

"Thank you, Vincent," Linda replies and I walk to the kitchen and ask for a housekeeper to prepare something for the ladies.

Shortly after, the driver arrives with Gio and he does not look happy, but I don't care, I grab my case and bid my woman farewell and hop into the car.

"Gio," I greet.

"I told you I wanted out Vincent,"

I glance over at him and sigh, "You know damn well that you don't just leave the mafia Gio, you have to pay the price and you know damn well that you can't do that, especially with your current situation,"

"I can't believe you would do this to me," he muttered.

I don't reply because I don't know why either, I don't want to lose my best friend and I certainly don't want to get in between his new girlfriend and child but I need him, he's important to the team, he's the only person I trust with my life and not having him around just makes me uneasy.

"What use am I to you on a fucking crutch Mario?"

I sigh, "You will be guiding the men through the entire operation, from the Port."

Gio nods, "And what about you?"

"I'll be the executioner."

We drive to the port, and I'm greeted by Juan and my brother, they take us to a boat that is a few miles off the coast to where the rest of the team is set. Once we are on the ship, I assemble the team to set sail for our Dela Rosa.

"Men, we shoot first and never ask questions, understood?"

"Si capo,"

"Good, now Gio here will be guiding us through the mission and Juan, Angelo and I will be leading the team, once we are on the Dela Rosa, we do everything in our power to protect what is on that ship, we cannot lose another shipment," I declare.

"Si Capo," they salute.

"Alright, let's get ready to rumble."
