Chapter Three: Mi Cara

"Chanel, hurry up, you're going to be late for your interview", Chanel's best friend, Kat, yells from the dining room.

"I'm coming, I'm coming, just give me a sec, okay," Chanel yells back. After a few minutes she steps out of her bedroom, dressed in a black pencil skirt, matching blazer, a white shirt, and a pair of black platforms, she had minimal makeup, and her hair was up into a neat ponytail.

"You look smoking hot, babes," Kat smirks.

Kat, Katrina Gayoso, is Chanel's best friend and partner in crime, they have been best friends for over 5 years. After the incident with Vincent three months ago, Chanel quit her job for a better one at a major accounting firm called Giovanni & Associates and she's going for her final interview today to meet her superiors and sign the contract. Conveniently, Kat works across the street from the building, with the company law firm, she's been working there for about two months and after she heard that there was an opening, she got Chanel an interview.

"Thank you, Kat,' she smiles.

Kat gives her a warm smile, "I'm so excited for you Chanel, we're finally going to work closer together, and now I have someone to go to lunch with."

"I know." Chanel grins.

"Okay, let's get going, we have an hour to calm your nerves and get breakfast," she says, flipping her long dark hair over her shoulder.

Kat is a beautiful half-white Hispanic woman, with long dark hair, an hourglass body, and lips so plump you just want to kiss them all the time. She has beautiful hazel-coloured eyes that sometimes seem to have a little green in them, she's cute but also dangerous like any Hispanic woman.

The two girls make their way out of Chanel's apartment, they go downstairs and get into Kat's car, Chanel lets out a shaky breath, she's nervous and she never gets nervous, why now? Why today? Was it because what she knew and was hoping wasn't true?

"Girl, you better calm down," Kat chuckles as she starts the engine.

"Kat, this is big; we are getting so close; you can't tell me to calm down. I don't want to mess up and get us caught, you know these people."

"I know, but that won't help you with anything Chicka, relax take a breather. Where you wanna go for breakfast?" Kat asks, wanting to change the subject.

"Let's go to Mugg and Bean, it's closer to the building."

"Awesome."

They make the short drive into town to the mall close to Kat's work building, and the park close to the restaurant and they walk in. A cute waiter greets them at the door and ushers them to a table at the back of the restaurant, he introduces himself as Kevin and gives them their menus.

"He is cute" Kat whispers.

Chanel laughs, "Not really but he looks gay"

"What? No, he doesn't" Kat argues.

The waiter came back, with his light green eyes glowing as the sunshine on them, he had freckles on his nose and cheeks and Kat loved freckles on a man.

"What can I get you two ladies?" he asks in a deep voice and charming smile.

"You," Kat blurts out and she quickly covers her mouth with her hand and blushes.

"Excuse my friend, we'll have an English breakfast. She'll have a sunny side up and I'll have scrambled eggs, with two large coffees, no milk and sugar for me and milk and two sugars for her," Chanel says to the waiter.

Kevin chuckles, "Alright, your food will be ready in 15 minutes"

"Thank you," Kat blushes as she hands him the menu. He takes Chanel's menu and gives Kat a wink before he walks away.
