Vincent Giovanni

She didn't say it back.

Why didn't she say it back?

It's been the only question running through my mind since we landed in Seychelles, am I rushing it? She has trust issues, yes, but have I not done enough to show her that I am serious about her?

I'm at a loss here.

"Sir, we have arrived," the driver says, I thank him, and I step out of the car and go to Juliet's side and open the door for her, reaching out my hand, she takes it and gives me a smile, the tropical sun giving her skin a glorious glow, or it was probably the morning sex but whatever it was, it was making her look like a queen.

She turns her head to the left and she gasps, "Oh wow, this is beautiful."

My secret hides out, or Frat House as my brother calls it, where we come and celebrate and escape the mafia life with no interruptions. It was also our family, holiday home, I loved coming here growing up, it was fun, but a lot of dark memories come attached to this house.

"This is all ours for next week, so why don't we go inside, and I'll give you the grand tour and then if you'd like we can head to the beach," I say.

She links our arms and gives me a grin, "Then what are we waiting for?"

We walk to the mansion and up the stairs, Martin, my bodyguard, opens the door for us, and we are greeted by Housekeeping. They all bow before us and Juliet tells them to stop, she greets the staff, and they all greet her back, the head of housekeeping, Rosaline, dismissed everyone and she walks over to me, and I hug her.

"I've missed you," she says, in her thick Italian accent, before kissing both my cheeks.

"Me too," I reply, "I want you to meet my Donna, Juliet,"

She looks at Juliet, who gives her a warm smile, "Hello, it's nice to meet you, Rosaline."

Rosaline hugs Juliet and kisses both her cheeks, "Nice to meet you too Juliet, you a stunning woman, you choose wisely son."

"Rosaline here, is one of the top members of the mafia, she looks old, but she can kick ass, she's been with the family for years."

"Oh wow, maybe she can teach me a thing or two, especially about you," Juliet smirks.

Rosaline laughs, "I like her better than the other one,"

Juliet's eyes widen and Rosa immediately apologizes, "Oh I am so sorry Vincent, I didn't mean to -

"It's okay, nana, I know," I say, "Don't worry, she knows about her."

Juliet gives her best fake smile, "It's okay Rosaline, all is forgiven."

Rosaline shakes her head with her hand on her mouth.

"Let me go and prepare food for you," and before I can say anything else, she walks away.

Juliet sighs, "Gosh, I feel bad for her."

"She'll be alright mi amore, she just got too excited, it happens. Now let's go see our room and cement our love in it."

She blushes, "Vincent, we just got here."

I nuzzle my face in her neck, littering it with light kisses, she giggles and tries to push me away but my grip on her is too strong.

"Stop it before I knee you in the balls," she says pushing me away with all her strength

"You wouldn't do that to Vincent Junior and all his other siblings." I frown.

She laughs, "Oh so you want kids?"

Shit.

I clam up, "Uh- maybe, I don't know."

It's not that I don't want kids, I just don't know if I'll be a good father to those kids like my dad was with me and my siblings, he was the perfect example of what a father should be, he loved us, he cared for us, he made sure we knew that he loved us, he played with us and read us stories, he came to matches, high school graduations, he was there. I just don't want to disappoint them.

She places her hand on my cheek, "We can always talk about its babe, okay?"

I turn my head and kiss the inside of her hand, "Thank you, mi amore."

She smiles, "Good, now let's start that tour."

I take her hand and we walk up the stairs, I showed her all the rooms, in the house, starting with the tv room, where the boys and I spend our time playing video games and watching sports, right next to it, is a little nurses office, just in case someone ever got hurt, I skip the room in the middle and go to the other side of the hallway, I show her the two guest bedrooms and then we turn to go back downstairs.

"What about that room?" she says pointing to the room in the middle.

"That's for later, mi amore, patience,"

She sighs and I walk her to the stairs and down to the living room, she walks in and she looks around the room and her eyes fall on the family portrait, above the fireplace, she moves closer and looks at me.

"This is the Giovanni family?"

I walked to her, "Yes, we had this taken before my mother passed away,"

She looks at it, "This is beautiful, I wish my family and I got along enough to do stuff like this,"

I'm shocked, this is the first time she has ever talked about her family, "You never talk about your family, why?"

"My family and I don't agree, especially since I joined the FBI, I've left but they still hate me for it," she explains, "My parents wanted me to be something else, something less dangerous."

"Like what?"

She leans against the fireplace, "Doctor, lawyer, anything other than an FBI agent and now that they've heard that I'm with you, they don't even want to see me."

I frown, "I'm sorry Juliet, I had no idea I was causing so much strain in your family relationship."

She chuckles, "Vince, it's okay, they've never cared about my happiness, only their reputation, so I'm happy we don't talk anymore, it gave me nothing but stress."

"They'll come around mi amore, there is nothing more important than family," I reply, "If they really love you, they'll accept you."

"You don't know my family, they are a stubborn bunch, especially my dad."

"And you," he smirks.

I roll my eyes and chuckle, "Yeah, yeah, I know."

"I wish I could have met you, mom and dad," she sighs.

I pulled her into my arms, "They would have loved you."

"You sure?" she says looking up at me, I kiss her nose.

"One hundred per cent sure baby."

I drag her out of the dining room to the kitchen, "This is my favourite place in this entire house, the kitchen. This is where my happiest memories were made, mama loved to cook and some of her best meals came from this kitchen right here."

"Are you going to cook me a few meals Mr Giovanni?" she raises an eyebrow with a smile.

"Of course, as long as I get to have you for dessert," I wink.

She laughs, "You are nasty."

"Oh, you love it, now let me take you outside."
