Vincent Giovanni

"Shit, how did they find us?"

Julie looks over at me, "Who the hell is they?"

"Thomas' goons," I reply, I open the cupboard door and reach inside, all the way to the back and pull out an AK47, I crawl to the next one and pull out another AK47 and throw it at Julie.

"You ready?"

She nods and we both get up from the floor, we stand back-to-back and have our guns ready to fire.

"How the hell did they know we were here?" Julie asks.

"Like Gio once told me, we have a rat in the house," I say.

Julie fires her gun and I hear a man groan, she seems to know how to use a gun, who am I kidding, of course, she does, she's an ex-spy.

"And who is that rat?"

"I have no idea, it could be anyone,"

"My money is on Sara," she says with hate.

I sigh, "Babe, come on. It's not possible."

"You seriously want to talk about your stupid baby mama, while I'm holding an AK47, you have some guts, Vincent,"

"I'm just saying that Sara wouldn't do this okay, and you have to trust me," I yell as I shoot three other men.

"We need back-up," she says as we make our way upstairs.

"Already sent an alert to my team, they should be here any second now," I say as I close our bedroom door and lock it, "We need to grab the important stuff and be ready to leave at any moment."

She nods, I grab my backpack and stuff our phones and chargers, as well as our toiletries because I know once we get on that plane, she's going to ask me about her shampoos, and I've already pissed her off.

She packs her backpack with a few clothing items, the basics so that we can change once we get on the plane.

She picks up her gun and stands beside me, "I'm sorry baby, I know how much you were looking forward to dinner."

"Nah, this is better, I get to see the love of my life kill some people," I smirk, "And you look sexy doing it."

She scoffs, "Focus lover boy, we've got rats to kill."

She cocks her gun and aims for the door, "They are coming,"

I look over to the door and don't hear any footsteps, but I remain, a vigilante, trusting that her FBI skills were working to our advantage. She was going to be a useful member of the mafia family, with her FBI skills and knowledge, will take over the entire east coast of America without getting sniffed out by the cops.

Suddenly, I hear a door break and here someone yells in Italian, my men were here.

"That must be the cavalry," Julie sighs.

"You can always trust my guys to show up when you need them the most," I reply and make my way to the door, but Julie pulls me back with the strap of my backpack.

"Are you stupid? It could be a trap, one of these goons could speak Italian," she says.

I scoff, "I know my men when I hear them, now let's go,"

I rush for the door and open it, I hear her groan behind me, but she follows me regardless, three armed men greet us, at the bottom of the stairs, Julie wastes no time and shoots all three, in less than thirty seconds, I almost piss my pants at how fast the woman was moving.

"Capo, it's Riccardo,"

I turn my head and look down the stairs, he pulls off his balaclava and reveals his face, and I sigh in relief.

"It's him, we are good now," I say to Julie, and she nods, we make our way down the stairs, and we follow Riccardo to the convoy waiting for us outside.

"Capo, Miss Ferguson," he greets, and Julie gives him a curt nod.

"What can you tell me, Ricco?"

"It was Thomas McCredie who lead the Russians here, we have information that he has an informant in our family," he explains, "We have narrowed it down to three suspects, according to Gio, it could be Kiara, Juan or Sarah,"

"Called it," Julie says proudly.

"What we do need to do right now, is get both of you to safety, the plane is ready for you and Miss Ferguson," he says.

He escorts us to the SUV, and we get into the car, I pull my phone out of my bag and call Gio.

'Vince?'

"You at the house?"

'I can get there in 5 minutes, what do you need?'

"I want you to do a thorough investigation, on Kiara and the twins, find out everything there is to know about them, including who they have been in contact with and when,"

'I'm on it, boss,"

"And Gio?"

'Si Capo?'

"Prepare for war, make sure that everybody is armed and ready, we are ending McCredie's tirade once and for all. I'm taking back my kingdom."

'Si Capo.'

And I hung up the phone.

"Are you sure about this Vince, this could be bloody and dangerous,"

I sigh, "It's part of the job description mi amore, it ain't a war until the blood has been shed and a king is dead. We are going to end this."

She looks at me with worry in her eyes, "Vincent, I have a bad feeling about this."

"Everything will be alright baby, I'll make sure that you're protected, you, Mona, AJ and Gio. I promise."

She kisses my lips, "Just don't do anything stupid."

I kiss her again, "I won't."

I held her in my arms the entire drive to the airport, I meant every word I said, I was going to protect her and my family, even if it meant going back to prison. Thomas is messing with the wrong man, on the wrong turf. Mafia rivalry is said to be like war, it is dangerous and there are no negotiations, the first to surrender or die wins and it doesn't matter who gets caught in the crossfire, blood will be spilt, and victory will be declared, no matter the costs.
