Juliet Ferguson

"How are you, Juliet?"

I sip my tea and contemplate whether I should tell her the truth or lie through my teeth, either way, I have to talk to her.

"Honestly, I'm really tired and scared,"

She looks at me, "Why is that?"

"One of the guys that took part in traumatizing me is still out there and I'm scared he might come for me and kill me."

She nods, "I understand your fears Julie, is Vincent doing anything to help with that or anyone?"

So, she knows about their lifestyle.

"Vince says that his men are on it and as soon as they find him, they'll handle the situation,"

"So, tell me, have you been having any nightmares?"

"Vincent told you, didn't he?"

She nods, "He's concerned about you Julie."

"I just keep having the same nightmare of what happened that day, feeling defenceless and weak, feeling violated and just praying that it would be over, I keep asking myself why he came back to save me after everything I did to him,"

"I see two separate issues here, one, you're scared and that event that took place has taken away your sense of power and control and secondly, you feel that you don't deserve a second chance at life or with Vincent." She says.

I nod, "You're right."

"Julie, you have power and control over your life, you always have and I know what happened to you was terrible but that is now in the past, you have to tell yourself every day that you are more than a conquer, find a way to get your power back and secondly, Vincent is a big softie, he may seem tough but he's not, he loves you and he would do anything to protect you."

Tears are streaming down my face, of course, he does, otherwise, I wouldn't be here, or he wouldn't have rescued me at all, but I don't deserve it. I should have left when I had the chance.

"And I'm going to give you this piece of information, he doesn't want to lose you the same way he lost Carmen, it would tear him apart."

I nod, "I understand, thank you, Dr Linda."

"My pleasure," she smiles.

She gets up from her couch and sits beside me, her motherly energy draws me to her and I place my head on her lap, she gently strokes my hair.

"You'll be okay Julie, from what Vince has told me, you're one tough cookie," she chuckles.

I smile, "My days in the FBI taught me well."

"What was it like being part of the FBI?" she asks.

"Wait you don't have to answer that I know how you're supposed to keep that information to yourself."

Before I could answer her phone rang and I lift myself so she could attend to it, she rushes over to her bag and takes it out of her bag.

"I have another appointment at the office," she says as she packs her things into her bag.

I get up from the couch and walk her to the door.

"Thank you so much for coming to see me, Dr Linda," I smiled.

"Please call me Linda and it was a pleasure,"

We share a hug before she walks out of the door and leaves, I close the door behind me.

Shit, now what do now?

Let me start with a shower and see where that takes me.

Two hours into my wash day, well-supposed wash day, I'm lying on the couch dressed in booty shorts and one of Vincent's t-shirts and knee-deep into The Witcher, I've got my phone in one hand and pizza in the other, it turns out Sarah and the others had an early day.

"Geralt is one fine piece of man," I groan as I take a bite of my pizza, "I wonder what Mona is up to?"

I dial her number and after two rings she picks up, "Bitch, what's up?"

"Girl, I was just thinking about you, what are you doing?"

'I'm outside your door, come open up

"For real?"

I get up from the couch and walk to the door, I peep through the peephole and see Mona on the other side, I squeal as I open the door.

We both squeal and hug each other before walking into the house.

"Where's my AJ?"

She groans, "I just dropped him off at Day-care, mama needs a break,"

I coo, "You came to the right place, I am watching The Witcher, and I want you to see this hunk of a piece of man,"

I drag her into the lounge, and she kicks her shoes off before sitting down on the couch, I press play and Geralt's fine ass blesses my TV screen.

"Damn," Monica says, "He is delicious."

"I know right, I could just eat him," I moan.

Mona laughs, "Girl you better watch your mouth because if yo man heard you say that he would spank that ass."

I chuckled, "Shut yo mouth and have some pizza."

"That I can do chicka,"

After an entire binge of The Witcher, Mona says that she has to leave to go pick up AJ. She kisses me on the cheek goodbye once again. I'm left by myself.

I decided to clean up the lounge and go upstairs to take a nap, and that's when I heard someone coming into the house.

"Hello?"

I pick up a golf stick near the fireplace and walk towards the passageway. The footsteps are slow and quiet.

"Motherfucker, you better show your goddamn face before I find you and beat your ass," I call out.

The footsteps get closer, and I jump in front of the person with the golf stick raised high and ready to hit somebody they jump and scream, and I scream too. I stop when I realise that it's Kira.

"Kira, what the hell? I almost killed you," I yell.

She pulls out her air pods and breathes a sigh of relief.

After a brief moment of catching our breath. I asked her the million-dollar question.

"What are you doing here?"

"I should be asking you the same thing," she replies.
