👩🏾🦱 CHEYENNE POV: *2 months later*
"you okay chey" My mom said walking into my room.
i just layed under my covers trying my best to pretend sleep.
she eventually left and that's when everything came up, i cried for hours.
i cried every day, all i did was cry and blame myself.
this would have never happened if it wasn't for me, james would never be dead and Hakeem wouldn't be in jail.
i got up preparing myself for the day ahead. i took a shower and did my morning routine.
i felt like a zombie going through the day, like i wasn't here anymore, i never realized how much hakeem meant to me and how important he was in my life until he was gone.
i changed my clothes and put my hair in a bun, i grabbed my purse and keys and walked downstairs.
"where u going chey" Gen asked.
"somewhere" i said, i grabbed some chips from the cabinet and left out the house.
i warmed up my car before heading out, i played my car playlist while i drove.
after a 4 hour drive i arrived at the jail, i haven't seen Hakeem in 2 months because of how far the drive is, also because i didn't want to believe all of this actually happened.
but today will be my first time speaking and seeing him in a while, I'm so nervous right now, what if he blames me like i blame myself.
i took some deep breathes before turning off my car and walking into the facility.
i was seated at a table, i waited until Hakeem came into view walking towards me. He looked different his hair was longer he had a stubble.
he smiled at me sitting down at the table, i immediately started tearing up.
"It's okay chey" He said, reaching out to hold my hand.
"NO TOUCHING" A guard yelled.
"Mtch, so how have you been" He asked.
"alright, i miss you" i said.
"Don't worry imma be out soon, i already got a lawyer" He said.
