After Jane left the house, things were far from being back to normal. Louis's attempts to get closer to Harry to court him increased more and more. Every morning he gave him one of the white roses from the garden and invited him to have breakfast with him, sometimes it was in a fancy restaurant, a pretty cafeteria, and some other times it was in the gardens of the house. His room had become their bedroom, and although Harry insisted on returning to his own room Louis said that he wouldn't be able to protect him if he wasn't with him... besides that he had gotten used to hugging him every night while breathing that delicious scent of fruits and cinnamon that came from his short curls.

That morning would be the first in which Harry would get to be alone for a few minutes since Zayn had ordered his alpha to go and take care of something to do with his position in the house. They had recovered a lot of small bottles of alpha essence that had been stolen, and Louis had to make sure the money, like the cargo, made it home safely.

"And Niall? He never does anything. Isn't this the kind of thing he's supposed to be doing?" The blue-eyed person complained as he walked around the omega's office.

"Niall has to go on a trip and he has to get ready, and before you say anything about Liam, he's busy too because he's going to organise a security personnel training session." Zayn explained from his seat, Louis sighed and paused lowering his gaze down.

"Okay, just... take care of Harry, I don't want him..."

"Yes, I know, I know. You don't want something bad to happen to him. I know Lou. Do you think I do?" He interrupted. Louis shook his head and walked over to Zayn for a hug.

"It's just that I haven't been away from him since he came back, and I'm afraid they'll do something to him." Zayn rubbed the alpha's back and smiled.

"I'm going to have him in my office all day. Don't worry." Both separated and with a soft smile they said goodbye.

Zayn sat back down, he had to organise some back to work papers that he had avoided, but he had a sharp pain in his lower abdomen that didn't let him concentrate. The more he looked at the little letters on the sheets the more his mind spun, he felt nauseous.

He pressed one of the buttons on his phone and a familiar voice answered.

"Are you alright, love?" Liam asked from the other end of the line. But he could immediately sense through the bond that Zayn wasn't okay.

"Could you call Harry? And... Barbara, I need tea or something."

"You feel bad? Do you need me to go with you? I can drop all this and go to..."

"No," he denied and closed his eyes, "we have a lot to do and we've been putting it off for too long. You just tell someone to call Harry and Barbara."

Liam accepted even though he didn't want to, Zayn's words were correct. Now they were busier than ever, so much so that he didn't even have time to attend to the needs of his omega, and that broke his soul.

Not more than two minutes went by before Barbara arrived at Zayn's office with a silver tray containing several pills and two cups of tea. She told him that he should relax for a few hours and that sleeping would probably be the best option to heal whatever he was feeling, but Zayn refused. Barbara knew that the omega was stubborn, so she would tell Harry that he should try to convince him to rest a little.

"You called me? Are you OK?" Asked the curly-haired omega as he opened the door, Zayn raised his head from the desk and motioned for him to come in, "Zayn, you look terrible. Do you need a doctor?"

"No, I'm fine. My stomach just hurts a little... It must have been because of that food Louis made for you, cooking was never his forte."

"Are you sure? Because we all ate the same thing and you seem to be the only sick one and..."
