oh my gosh. i can't believe it's done.

automatic stop has been such a joy to write, from the creation of the characters to the audience reactions. i have never written a book that is this many chapters, or that has had this much outside research or planning put into it. all of that just makes saying goodbye to this story, and to this world, so much harder.

i am so so grateful for every single one of you who had read this and who has loved it just as much as i do. i am always blown away when a book of mine receives support from amazing readers. your comments helped me discover new elements to the story, helped me give the characters matching tattoos, helped create TOP TIER inside jokes, etc, and i'm so thankful we got to go on this journey together!

i am also so glad that there is a community of people out there who, whether through the release and popularity of top gun: maverick, or (like me) through a longstanding love and appreciation for the original 1986 film, love this world.

i want to give a special thank you to jayna_ly . this book would, in no way, be what it is without katia, and, in turn, without my best friend, jayna. she was always the first person i went to with ideas and questions, and she helped me bring my crazy 50+ chapter idea to life. thank you for buying us matching f-18 charms, and for being the havoc to my riot both through the story of skye and katia, and in our own lives.

i am simply overwhelmed by the love that you all have shown this book, and it is such an honor to have written something that has any sort of impact on others.

this is such a hard book to say goodbye to, but i hope that you all have enjoyed it. i am so thankful for everything that this experience has brought me, including a deeper love and understanding of aviation.

thank you.

i love you all so much,
