Chapter 25 Guilt

Kim Hyun Joong's Pov

Three days seemed like endless times for me without my wife with me. I received the parcel sent to me and opened it in my study only to find a similar picture sent to me by the same person followed by a new picture of a kidnapped woman tied to a sick bed. With a white paper saying. I'll take everything from you. This is just the beginning
"What is it?" I soliloquised dropping the parcel and the pictures. For a moment I was happy Kimberly, my wife was away from all this
"But who could do this to me?" I soliloquised again
"Sir, sir what are we going to do about Jin hye. I can't bear to lose her. My baby can't lose her mother." Lee said to me holding his baby, while talking to me later that day. I called him to come see me at home
"When did this happen?" I asked him placing both my hands on the table, folding up my fingers together
"When you gave me the time off to go stay with my wife. After she gave birth I left the hospital and went get supplies for her and the baby and then she was gone. It's been two weeks and I had to beg the hospital's management to release my baby so I can keep her safe" Mr. Lee explained calmly enough
"Sir we have to do something. This is all connected to you and somehow... It has to do with your father's new mistress, Kim Min Jung too" he suggested
I gave him a fierce look when he said that but he was only saying the truth.
I had to give it a deep thought.
Later that week I confronted her to ask her why she wanted to destroy my life
But she denied it.
"Have you been sending pictures of your sister to me lately?" I asked her sternly
I had to ask her that way leaving Lee's wife out of the conversation
"If I said I don't want revenge for my sister I'd be lying. But I don't even know who killed her and the killer will definitely pay for it when I catch him" she threatened trailing her fingers round the table as I watch her turn her cynical back at me
"But how's this connected to you?" I asked again
"We were close once right, definitely they are trying to get back at you through me" she wasn't even being sober about it
"Why would they defame my sister this way?" She said folding up her arms in suspicions
"But she's gone and there's nothing I can do about it" she added releasing her arms
"But as for us my love there are many things we can definitely figure out together" she slithered towards me trailing the invincible lines on my left chest
"Like sabotaging me to get head company" I said pushing her hand away
"Yes. I didn't marry your father without my own interests" she admitted shamelessly
"I promise you, you'd be the last to get your hands on my family properties" I warned her
"We'll see about that my love." She chuckled softly kissing me
"I don't have time for this." I turned my back at her leaving my office which she heads now as the executive
"I know you want me Hyun Joong" she yelled as I slammed the glass door behind me
"Min if you had anything to do with this..."
"Don't point fingers at me. Your past are coming back to haunt you. Your ghost aren't dead and buried" Min said moving away from my finger in his office
"If you need answers find it somewhere else as long as Kimberly and Sun doesn't get hurt" he gave me a vivid warning
"So this is about Kim?" I guess I felt a bit jealous
"What?" he scoffed "stop being so judgy. You lost her and it was your doing, face it, she wasn't meant to be with you. She's not some object. And you definitely don't love her" Min added judgementally
"And what do u know about love?" I asked teasing him back
"Many things but one of it is not hurting the ones I love the most."
"Min." Sun called out to my cousin who was sitting opposite me at the table.
"Sun actually called me to come check up on both of you." I said to Min
"Sun, told you she (Kimberly) didn't want to have anything with Kim Hyun Joong's, right Sun?" Min signalled to Sun feeling a bit confused
"Uhmm I'm standing right here." I reminded them
"Besides if I had known he did that, he'd be the last to hurt you cause I won't let him do that you." Sun added protecting Min
What she said hit my heart immensely
"I'm sorry. I'm still furious with your brother." Sun said facing Min
"But I came here to talk about Kim. This is really taking a toll on her and you two are the only ones who can mend that broken bond between her heart and her mind" Sun said with all seriousness
"Is she doing alright?. What? I'm being concerned for my wife."
"You mean ex wife" Sun said. I could see Min also admitting that. I guess she's right.
"She's not thinking straight. I think it's best she goes back home" She added
"Where's she?" I asked in naivety
"Back home to LA duh" she replied furiously
"But I'm all she has and I can't leave my dad. Not in his state. He's still recuperating" Sun explained calmly this time
"Someone has to talk to her. I need to make things right before she makes that decision. But she doesn't want to even see me or my sister. Someone has to help me out for once. I'm curled up in this inescapable situation" I faced Min and he understood what I meant
"I don't actually mind if you both take a walk" I said to Min concerning Kimberly
"She's on her way here. I told her to come meet up with me. But she'll be with you right?" Sun asked Min as he nodded in affirmation
"Thank you Sun" I thanked Sun leaving the office with Min ready to step out with her few minutes later
"Will you be alright alone?" She asked Min just before we left
"I'm more worried about you than you of me" Min said in a caring gesture making me wonder if Kim my wife should end up with him and not me
"Take care of her" I added facing my cousin
"You can trust me" he assured
I smiled at Sun leaving the office
