Chapter 7: Beach time

Kim's POV

The next day was a Sunny Sunday, I was a christian but I didn't know any church around.
"I can't believe I can't even find a catholic church around" I said to Sun in the living room.We both sat down on the floor.
"You just got here.Where are you going to find a church here in that short amount of time?" Sun antagonized, though she wasn't a christian
"You unbeliever" I mocked her
"It doesn't mean anything. Today is Sunday and I need a place of worship" I added.
"You can worship God in your heart" Sun responded harshly but I kept silent and she noticed
"Alright, I'll look around if I can find a church but that would be later and not today" She finally succumb to my plight.
"Awwn.Thanks" I said to her smiling
"I can't believe I succumbed to your plight" Sun said smiling at me
"Its because you love me" I said as I moved closer to hug her.
A moment later, her phone pinged, someone had sent her a message.
"Its Min, he wants us to come to the mansion" Sun informed me
"Why?, is everything alright?" I got worried
"I know you're thinking he's at his usual anger management self but I don't think thats the case" Sun assured
"I can't believe you got a phone and I didn't" I whined
"Stop whinning you big baby.bMy mom gave me this phone and its in Korean. You have to work hard to get a English phone" Sun said to me

We took the bus because Sun was familiar with the city. We both wore grey jeans but I wore a black top and she wore a white top. We got to the mansion on foot because the bus stop was far from the mansion.
They had employed a new security guard to watch the gate so fast. Well they could afford it.Sun spoke to him in Korean, after calling someone from the mansion, he finally let us in.
We got to the final step, as we're about to approach the door, it opened by itself.
"You're still amazed at this tech?" Kim Seoun said as she approached us downstairs
"Kim Seoun" I called out to her, I always made the Seoun sound like son.
"I'm glad you can still pronounce my name a little" Kim Seoun said as she hugged Sun first.
"Min wanted you to come with us" Kim Seoun said to Sun as she turned to hug me too.
"To where?" I wondered.
"You spoilt my leisure time yesterday. Min wanted to repay me by taking us back to the island again" Kim Hyun Joong said as he came down the stairs with Min and Kim Sang
"She was kidnapped" Sun defended me
"That's what you get for bringing a foreigner home with you" Kim Sang said but we gave no reply
"Don't worry it'll be fun" Min said as he embraced Sun from the side, I was a bit jealous but I didn't understand why I was.
"But we didn't dress the part, I'm sure there will be a lot of water" I said to Min
"Its called a beach" Min corrected in a funny way
"Don't worry Kim, we have a mini boutique over there" Kim Seoun said
"You do?"I was surprised.
"Of course.What do you think we are?,Commoners?"Kim Hyun Joong mocked us
"Thank Min.I didnt want you to come with us.You're not one of us anymore"He said angrily to Sun as left with his cousin.
"Oh don't mind him. It'll be fun.I promise"Kim Seoun said as we all headed out, we took two jeeps.The boys were in the black jeep while we were in the white jeep.

We got to the Island under minutes,the beach was so scanty and beautiful.
"This place is more beautiful than the heart island" I said covering my face from the rays of the sun.
"That island is just too crowded" It felt like Kim Seoun just boasted
"I forgot you are rich" I said jokingly
She took I and Sun to the mini boutique to get dressed appropriately.It was built with wooden exteriors but the interior outlook was built with metal,the air conditioning was relaxing. We tried on many lingeries and speedos and swim suits until we made our choice.
I picked a yellow jumper and a yellow short while Sun picked a yellow jumper with a blue strap and a blue lingerie, Kim Seoun wore a black bra and a transparent shirt that covered her pants and her laps but her legs were exposed.
"This is fun" Kim Seoun said to us
"Kim Seoun, I noticed you got a new security guard" I was curious.
"Kim stop being inquisitive" Sun cautioned me but Kim Seoun didnt mind
"Its okay. We employed him yesterday. We would've gotten a security guard from the company but we just used it to help a poor man who needs a job. We may be rich but we're not heartless" Kim Seoun explained.
"Then why hasn't your brother forgiven Sun?" I asked again
"Kim!" Sun cautioned again but this time I didnt care
"Kim Hyun Joong has his pride." Kim Seoun said
"Doesn't everyone?" I interjected
"There was a time he asked her out but she chose someone else"Kim Seoun said, I noticed Sun feeling uneasy
"Who was it?" I wondered
"Look it doesn't matter, let's face what we came here for" Sun cut in concluding the discussion.
We headed out and saw the boys already on the beach. I noticed Kim Hyun Joong first, i noticed his blonde shiny hair, he was wearing an Orange nylon jacket and a white 3 quarter short, Min was on the beach swimming in his long speedo, without a shirt and Kim Sang was relaxing on the wooden lounge chair wearing an ash colour sleeveless shirt with his long hair packed gorgeously in a pony tail.Min came out of the water, making his hair wet and messy as the water drips down his abs making him look more masculine and handsome.
As he approached us, Sun felt more uncomfortable.
"Sun are you alright?" he asked
"Me uhmm..yes I'm fine" She stuttered
"Good,'cause you ladies are going swimming" Min said to us
"I'm sorry...swimming is not my thing"I said to him, truly I was scared of the water
"You'll miss all the fun"Kim Seoun encouraged but I wasn't convinced
"Alright. We'll go. Don't bore yourself out" Kim Seoun said dragging Sun with her as they ran towards the water.
"I'll go change" Min said to me and left me hanging.
I watched as the two ladies were having fun, at a point I felt lonely.
"I can't believe the ugly duckling is scared of the ocean"vKim Hyun Joong said as he approached me.
"I'm not scared...I just don't like the water" I defended but he too wasn't convinced
"Is that so?" He teased
"What are you doing here with a jacket on,vyou should be swimming" I teased him too
"Swimming is a waste of time and energy" He said coldly and went towards Kim Sang to sit with him.
30mins after the ladies had their fun and their clothes were dried,they didn't bother changing, Min sat with us under the the shade on the wooden lounge chair,vMin had change into his printed t-shirt and 3 quarter short.
Suddenly we heard a loud voice.
"Baby i'm here" it was the lady who emabarassed me at the party the previous night.
"Park Soo Jin" Kim Sang said to himself but we all heard him
"Who invited her?" Kim Seoun asked feeling irritated
"I did.Last time I checked she's my girlfriend" Kim Sang said
"You're lucky I want her for you" Kim Hyun Joong said coldly him, Kim Sang stood up to go meet her. He hugged her and brought her to our direction.
"Hiya everyone,i'm sorry i'm late"She said in a hypocritical manner. I was so angry I felt like tearing her face off for what she did to me but I didn't let it show on my facial expression
"We are glad you are." Min replied harshly
"Your presence bore me" Kim Hyun Joong said making everyone laugh under their breath.
"We should really leave, we have work tomorrow" Sun said
"Have you forgotten who owns the cafe?" Kim Seoun said to Sun to make us stay.
"Kim's and family!. That's definitely not the name of our company" Min exclaimed making everyone smile except Kim Hyun Joong. I wonder if he has a heart of stone.
When it was 8pm we stayed under the cabana to have dinner. I sat in between Kim Seoun and Sun facing Kim Hyun Joong.
I found it hard to use the chopsticks,at a point I noticed Soo Jin laughing silently at me.
"Hey, use the fork, we're not in Japan" Min tried to tell me it wasn't compulsory for me to use chopsticks.I complied without hesitation, honestly, using the cutlery made the food more delicious. I'm not used to living a Korean life and I don't go to Chinese restaurants back in L.A, sadly because of this type of situation.
"I have to say Korean food reminds me of my mom, not that she cooks Korean..." I got confused
"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself"Min said to me
"The meal is scrumptious" Soo Jin said
"Made by the finest chefs" Kim Sang boasted along
"Can't we find a moment of silence for once" Kim Hyun Joong cautioned
"Don't put it on us, you're just angry the girl who rejected you is here" Soo Jin said. Kim Sang held her hand to make her stop talking.
"Soo Jin" Kim Sang cautioned by calling her name
"What?, its true" She added which made Kim Hyun Joong more angry
Kim Hyun Joong stood up and left the table burning in anger.
"Bro" Min and Kim Sang called him back but he didn't answer.
After dinner, we were in the hotel,we had to stay indoor because the rain was about to start, but it hasn't started pouring yet. I and Sun stayed in the same room.
"Sun are you alright?" I was concerned
"Yes.Why'd you ask?" She wondered
"You were acting strange earlier today,especially in front of Min, is there something between you two" I was curious
"You're too forward and that's gonna get you in trouble" Sun said and left.
Later I went out sight seeing around the hotel only to find Min and Sun hugging intimately behind a small tree.
"Remember when we had our first kiss" Min said to her as he released her from his embrace. I hid behind them so they don't see me.
"I remember too. Its a shame we weren't made for each other" Sun said as Min went closer to hold her arms gently
"I'm willing to fight for us" He said to her but still she wasn't looking happy.
"You know we can't. What will people say?,Hyun Joong isn't even happy I rejected him, I'm sure he's glad we're not together" She protested
"That was before we started dating.I don't care I love you" Min said
"I just wish we didn't find out the truth. Min my mother bore me for your father, we're related one way or another. This can't work" Sun said to him.
"Even Kim is getting suspicious and I don't want her to find out" She added
"So that is why she felt uncomfortable and secretive all this while, she's been keeping this from me" I whispered to myself
"Then don't get angry when I start dating someone else" Min said coldly to her turning his face.
"I've seen the way you look at Kim, do you like her?" Sun got curious, I was surprised to hear hear ask that, I saw it on Min's face too.
"It doesn't matter who I date, you're not ready to fight for our love after all"He said angrily and left her hanging.
"Min" She called him but he refused to answer, immediately the rain started,I saw her running into the hotel.
After hearing all that,I didnt know what to do so I picked up an umbrella beside me.
"Why's there an umbrella here?" I asked myself without thinking I entered into the rain not minding the weather,I was so down and confused I didn't know what to do.
I walked down a few distance with the umbrella above my head protecting me from the drizzling rain, after some minutes i approached a pergola, i saw someone standing on the edge of the pergola. As I got closer I saw that it was Kim Hyun Joong. I knew he looked familiar from the back of his hair.
"Hey" I said startling him
"What are you doing here?" He asked rudely but I didn't mind as I closed the umbrella and got under the pergola.
"I should be asking you the same thing"I said to him
"I came here to think and I very much don't like to be disturbed" He tried to send me away
"In the rain?" I wondered
"I thought you didn't like water" He reminded me.
"I have an umbrella" I responded hastily
"What happened between you and Sun?" I don't why I asked him,because I knew his character, but at that moment I wasn't scared to.
"You should really learn to mind your business before it lands you in trouble" He said angrily and went into the rain. I didn't like seeing him wet.He looked like he was in pain. I opened the umbrella and went to meet him to cover him from the rain pour. He looked at me for a moment it felt like his eyes was sparkling as he wet hair covered his forehead. He dropped the umbrella from my hand making the rain drizzle on us both as our hair got wet. He leaned front and gave me a sudden kiss. It felt like I was dreaming,why would he kiss me?, I thought he had a heart of stone. I was the first to withdraw from the kiss,it was unbelievable. I got confuse, the only way I could escape from the awkward moment was to run away so I did that.I left him and the umbrella behind and ran back to the hotel. I was so shaken that I couldn't go back to the room because of Sun,the only person I could think of was Kim Seoun.
I knocked her door 3 times, the 3rd time,she opened the door.
"Kim why aren't you asleep?, why are you all wet?" Kim Seoun sounded concerned
"I and Sun had a misunderstanding so i took a walk" I explained as she seated me on the wooden chair in her room.
"Kim Seoun, I overheard Min and Sun talking. I heard everything, why they can't be together" I said to her
"I'm sorry you had to hear it, I know you like my cousin" I was shocked my what she said
"Why'd you say that?" I asked
"I've seen the way he defends you anytime we have a discussion at home and i've the way you reacted when he hugged Sun. You looked jealous" Kim Seoun teased
"No...i...didn't" I said slowly
"I'm sorry for being too forward"bShe quickly apologize
"No it's okay" I assured
"Who knows he might also like you too" Kim Seoun said to me
"I don't think so, he loves Sun." I said to Kim Seoun
"They can't be together, sooner or later they'll have to accept it" Kim Seoun said. This drove me to tell her my experience with her brother.
"I kissed your brother" I said to her closing my eyes.
"What?" She sounded surprised
"No Kim Hyun Joong kissed me"I tried to defend myself
"When did this happen?" She got curious.
"Before I came here, I saw him under a pergola on the other side of the hotel" I explained
"Look, Sun was the first lady he ever fell in love with. When he asked her to give him a chance she rejected him because she loved Min instead, that's why he was the happiest when he found out they were related.Ever since, he hasn't set eyes on any other lady. Kim you need to be careful"Kim seemed concerned and I understood.
"He is my brother that's why I can say these things to you, I don't want him to hurt you or play with your feelings, maybe that's why Sun rejected him then" Kim Seoun added.
"I understand" I responded.
"Oh Kim" She said as she hugged me tightly, I responded by hugging her back.
