Chapter 53: Still Alive

Kirby began to awaken.

"What happened?" he thought as his vision cleared.

He saw he was staring at a white ceiling. He then remembered the last thing he saw was him trying to float his Aunt Ruby and Aunt Blake to safety so that they wouldn't fall into the void as his mother had. However, since he couldn't remember a thing past that, he feared the worst.

"Oh no! Did we all fall?! Are we in Heaven?!" Kirby thought as he jolted up and looked around the room.

He saw Team RWBY and Meta Knight all asleep.

"Are all of us dead?!" Kirby thought as he started to panic.

"Oh good, you're awake," Kirby heard a voice say.

He turned to see a strange creature with no feet and detached hands with cream mittens. He was clad in a regal blue suit, complete with a white cape with gold trimmings and a dash of purple, gold-trimmed cog designs, and he wore a white scarf with a blue belt interwoven. His face was brown with oval-shaped yellow eyes. The rest of his head was covered by his hood, with his cat-like ears underneath, causing his hood to poke out at its sides.

"Are you ok? I found you and your friends out in the open, all asleep. It's not safe to wander about out there, you know," the creature explained.

"Poyo?" Kirby asked. "This doesn't sound like the afterlife, so I guess we are still alive, but where are we?" he thought.

"I'm sorry, but what does 'poyo' mean?" the creature asked.

"Poyo, poyo," Kirby tried to explain.

"Oh...is poyo the only thing you can say?"

"Poyo..." Kirby nodded. "Pretty much," he thought.

"Well...it sounds like you can still understand me, so can your friends speak?"

Kirby nodded.

"Ok then. Once they wake up, I'll introduce myself to you all," the creature promised.

"Oh Mommy, I'm so glad you're alive!" Kirby gently hugged her as tears ran down his face.

Yang slowly woke up, instinctively hugging her son back.

"Kirby?.....Where are we?" Yang asked in confusion.

She then saw the rest of Team RWBY and Meta Knight so she woke them up, wondering if they knew what was going on. Once her teammates saw she was ok, they all hugged each other, Kirby included. However, Weiss had to tell them that she had seen Penny killed by Cinder, and that the Maiden powers went to Winter. Everyone mourned the loss of their friend.

"She just got her human body too," Kirby thought as he sobbed. "Cinder's going to pay for everything she's done."

After they all stopped crying, Meta Knight pointed out the strange creature.

"Excuse me. May I ask who you are?" Meta Knight asked.

"Hello, my name is Magolor. It's nice to meet you all, but can I also ask why you were all just sleeping outside out in the open? Seems pretty dangerous to me," the creature introduced himself.

Everyone introduced themselves as well before Ruby explained that they had all actually fallen into a void and woke up to find themselves here.

"I see, you must have landed out there, then. Don't worry, you're all safe in here, though," Magolor assured them.

"Where exactly is here?" Blake asked.

"You're inside my ship, the Lor Starcutter right now. Unfortunately I can't fly it anywhere right now after the damage it's taken."
