Chapter 69: A Clone to Pick with You

"New plan! Them EX monsters we've been ordering just kept getting beat like them monsters before, so this time I want me a monster that Kirby ain't never fought before!" Dedede commanded.

"King, I assure you that the EX monsters are far more powerful than the originals, it's just that they've had a bit of a challenge ever since Kirby showed he was strong enough to defeat Morpho Knight, and she was our strongest monster," the Sales Guy replied.

"You ain't got nothin stronger than her?!" Dedede demanded.

"Well, I did say she was our strongest monster, but along with those EX monsters we sent we have still built original monsters as well. In fact if you want something both new and something that'll pack a punch, I know just the thing!"

The Sales Guy then delivered something to the castle. When it arrived, Dedede saw that it was just a mirror.

"A mirror? What kind of joke is this boy?! I done pay you folks a lot of good money for a true monster, not something I already gots in my wardrobe!"

"Just take a look at the mirror, Big D," the Sales Guy suggested.

Dedede did so.

"Well?" he asked, nothing happening.

"There's the monster, staring right back at ya!" the Sales Guy then laughed.

Escargoon began laughing too before Dedede hit him with his hammer.

"Don't worry, I'm only joking, what I'd really recommend is show it someone both powerful and who has a lot of knowledge about Kirby. Ta ta, boys," the Sales Guy then hung up.

"Someone strong and smart...hey! What if we show this here mirror to Yang? That boisterous blowhard sure does love to see herself in the mirror to brush her blonde hair!" Dedede suggested.

"Maybe, but why would she trust a mirror we were to give her? She'd know something's up," Escargoon reminded him. "Oh! But what about Meta Knight? Since he works for us, we could easily order him to look at it!"

"That's a good one, Escargoon," Dedede evilly grinned.

Meta Knight was in his room as he was talking to Sword and Blade Knight. After he sent them off to their posts elsewhere in the castle, he heard a knock on his door.

"Open up, Meta Knight!" Dedede ordered.

Meta Knight obeyed. "How may I serve you, your majesty?"

"Look in this here mirror for me!"

"...May I ask why I must do so?" Meta Knight asked, a bit suspicious.

"Escargoon thinks the mirror makes him look big, but I think he just always look like that! So you check to see who's right!" Dedede lied.

"That's rich coming from you!" Escargoon yelled before Dedede smacked him.

Meta Knight did as he was told, but once he looked in the mirror, he began to feel drowsy. He then fell into the mirror as he fell asleep.

"Hey! Where'd he go?" Dedede asked, confused.

"I don't see his reflection, either," Escargoon observed.

Just then, the mirror morphed into an identical copy of Kirby. He then turned to stare at Dedede stoically.

"That can't be the real Kirby," Escargoon stated.

To test that theory, Dedede got some cake and held it in front of the Kirby copy, yet it only kept its eyes on Dedede. Dedede noticed this before thinking. He then got an idea.
