The rock climbing wall was one of Rowan's favorite gym activities.

Danny and her were the first pair to do the wall together and the two of them turned it into a competition of course, trying to push each other off the wall while trying to be the first to reach the top.

Rowan won.

She now stood beside Stiles as they watched Allison and Scott scale the wall.

"A freezer? His dad seriously locked him in a freezer? That's -"

"Traumatising? Inhumane?" Rowan suggested dryly.

"I was going to say sad but sure, those work too."

Just as Rowan finished updating Stiles about what happened at Isaac's house, Coach announced that it was his and Erica's turn to climb the wall as Allison and Scott made their way toward Rowan.

Rowan and Stiles exchanged grins as he quickly made his way to the wall. Rowan squeezed Erica's shoulder as the blonde looked up at the wall nervously.

'It'll be ok, just remember there's a mat to catch you and you'll be attached to a harness at all times.'' Rowan said calmly with a small smile. Erica nodded and she made her way to the wall.

Stiles had climbed up much faster than Erica did. While the girl had barely reached the halfway mark Stiles had already finished the whole wall and was shooting the McCall twins a proud smile.

But the trio stopped smiling when they heard the sound of frantic breathing and all eyes turned to Erica who clung onto the boulders for dear life.

"Please, help." Erica hyperventilated, Coach rushed over to the floor beneath the girl as the rest of the class surged forward.

'Erica, dizzy? is it vertigo?" Coach called up the girl. Rowan scrunched her face in confusion when she heard the older man's words.

How was this guy a certified gym teacher?

'Vertigo's a dysfunction of the vestibular system of the inner ear. She's just freaking out." Lydia scoffed at the man while Rowan frowned worriedly.

"Erica!" the coach called again, a few of the students had started snickering and Rowan could see the tremble in Erica's arms.

From the ache, fear, or embarrassment?

Maybe all three.

'Im fine." Erica choked out but Rowan shook her head.

"Coach, we should probably get her down. She has epilepsy," Rowan told the man.

'Wh-why does no one tell me this stuff- Erica, you're fine. Just kick off from the wall, there's a mat to catch you." Coach reassured the girl calmly.

Rowan, Stiles, and Scott watched the girl worriedly but eventually, Erica finally let go and Rowan felt herself breathe a sigh of relief.

Erica quickly pushed through the crowd and exited the gym, ignoring the snickers from the class.

"If you guys don't shut up the next one going up that wall may accidentally find themself not hooked up to a harness properly. I would love to be the one laughing then." Rowan said dryly.

The gym fell eerily silent.

🐺🐺

For some strange reason, Rowan wasn't a stranger to the boy's locker room.
