The bright, California sun peaked through the curtains of Rebecca's bedroom window, hitting the furniture as well as the numerous posters and photos of Dean and Lisa on the wall.

Turning over on her side, Rebecca glanced at the clock, which read 8:30 am. Getting out of bed, she walked to her dresser, pulled out her light pink two piece swimsuit for the beach, as well as an extra change of clothes. After she was dressed, she packed a beach bag with som essentials: sunscreen, her beach towel, and sunglasses.

Dean called from the living room, "Rebecca, you ready to go?"

"Yeah dad." Rebecca said as she placed her bag over her shoulder

"So, are you excited?" Dean asked as Rebecca walked down the hall, and the two walked the front door

Rebecca walked to the impala and got inside. "About the beach party? Yes? About making new friends? Somewhat yes. What if these girls around here don't like me?" she asked as her father sat down in the driver's seat of the impala

"You can't think that way hon. It's like I said yesterday, you've always been a social butterfly, so you'll have no problem making friends." Dean said as he turned on the ignition

Rebecca laughed as she shook her head. "Dad."

"So, this is what you kids do these days? Go to beach parties instead of the malt shops?" Dean asked as he made a left turn

"The malt shops? Dad, when did you ever go to the malt shop?" Rebecca laughed

"Plenty of times with your mom. God, the cherry malts we're her favorite. She always got one when she was pregnant with you." Dean said

"That's probably why I love cherries and cherry flavored things. I do remember she loved an occasional strawberry milkshake with extra whipcream." Rebecca smiled

"Yeah, that was on occasion, but if we ever went to the diner, she always had the burger with a cherry shake. No exceptions." Dean laughed as he pulled into the beach parking lot.

Rebecca turned her head and saw the beach was packed with kids from The Valley. Freddy wasn't lying when he said it was an adios summer party.

Dean put the impala in park. "I'll be back to get you at 11. Have fun and be safe, alright?" he said

Rebecca smiled and nodded. "I love you daddy." she said as she kissed her father's cheek

"I love you too, sweetheart. This is something your mom would say, but remember to wear your sunscreen." Dean said

"I will daddy." Rebecca smiled as she got out of the impala, grabbed her beach bag, closed the door and walked down to the beach.

"Keep her safe, Lisa." Dean whispered as he clutched his wife's wedding band set, which he always wore around his neck.

Dean didn't drive away until he saw that his daughter made it down to the beach. Once Rebecca was on the beach, Dean drove to the auto shop to begin his shift.
