A ship flies through the skies over Vale The owner of the Dust shop From Dust Till Dawn is hanging a sign declaring its re-opening. As he climbs down from his ladder, he stumbles and falls. Emerald appears next to him.
"Scuse me, sorry. I'm not really from around here." Emerald said as he helps the owner to stand up "Would you mind pointing me in the direction of this shop?" she asked holding a piece of paper with writing on it and the shopkeeper looks it over.
"Hmm? Mm-hmm." the Owner nodded
After that Emerald walks away from the shop owner as both wave goodbye and passes Mercury at a corner.
"I knew you were lost." Mercury said
"Mercury, I will seriously pay you to shut up." Emerald said as she holds a wallet with Lien and waves it in Mercury's face
"That's not your money." Mercury said
"But it can be yours for 5 minutes of silence." Emerald said
"Mmmm... no deal." Mercury said
"Fine." Emerald said takes the Lien and tosses the wallet, turning to walk away
"Whatever. You want me." Mercury said
Mercury and Emerald continue to walk through the city.
"So, how much farther?" Mercury asked
"A few blocks." Emerald said
"Ugh... this place is so dull." Mercury said
"Eh, I kinda like it. Tall buildings, diverse culture..." Emerald said
"And nice dopey people who are easy to pickpocket." Mercury said
"That's every city." Emerald said stopping
"Ooh, Emerald! Master thief! Please don't take my money! I barely have enough to get by!" Mercury said acting like a victim causing Emerald to glare at him, groaning angrily. She then walks away from him.
"Ugh... you're no fun today." Mercury said
Mercury follows behind Emerald, then they arrive at a bookshop while the owner can be heard humming a tune. Mercury stops near the door to look at books while Emerald approaches the counter and rings a service bell.
"Be right there!" Tukson said while Emerald looks back at Mercury. Then Tukson walks out the double doors carrying stacks of books as he walks backward and out toward the counter, "Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade, home to every book under the sun!" he said as he sets the stacks down "How may I..." he said turning around, he gasps and hesitates upon recognizing the two of them, "How may I help you?" he asked
"Just browsing." Mercury said looking through the books, he looks at Tukson, then He shuts the book
"Actually, I was wondering, do you have any copies of The Thief and The Butcher?" Emerald asked
"Yes, we do." Tukson said
"That's great." Emerald said excitedly
"Would you... like a copy?" Tukson asked
