It's not that we didn't care for each other we did. It was him, he was being held back by his responsibilities. He would rather drown himself in alcohol than take in the colour of her eyes. It isn't like we didn't want to make it work we very much did but she always had some sort of fear of not being enough and she wouldn't allow herself to accept that someone might love her back. They cared for one another but were too oblivious to realize it. They could have been the ones to love each other.
