Curses (Owl House Hunter AU)

Hunter ran through the forest never wanting to see those stupid smug faces of the emperors guard again. People laughed at him when red feathers started to sprout from his face and he turned into a fire red Phoenix beast.

He had lost to puny 11 year old in front of the entire coven. Not only did he have an age advantage, but he was much stronger then her. It was a total embarrassment. 

He ran through the forest until he came upon an old house. He walked up to the house's door and slowly reached for the handle when the face on the door (which he thought was decoration) started talking.

"WOAH!!! A person!!! I haven't seen any of you since Mr. Clawthorne left!!" The owl face screeched. Hunter backed away from the door slowly "so someone lives here?" He asked disappointed.

"Nope! I've been abandoned for years!" Hunter slightly frowned at how happy the owl was about being alone for so long.

"Do you mind if I stay the night?" Hunter asked slowly. "Of course I don't mind!!! You can stay for ever and ever and ever and ever." The owl went on.

Hunter laughed as he approached the door again. He opened it to revealed a completely empty house. The only thing that remained was a couple of random candles and alot of dust.

The owl tube followed  him inside. "So what's your  name?" Hunter turned around quick at the sudden appearance of the owl tube. "Hunter. What about you?" The owl tube smiled brightly "I'm Hooty reporting for duty!"

Hunter slightly chuckled, then said "do you think you could find me a bed Hooty?" Hooty's eyes glimmered at the thought of helping someone. He nodded excitedly and rushed off into another room.

Hunter looked around and sat in the middle of the floor. "You know, I think I could really learn to like it here." He smiled.

He never really felt at home in the orphanage. All the other witches laughed at him because he wasnt very skilled with magic. They always teased him because he wanted to join the emperor's coven. But that just made him work harder.

That's what got him here. He worked too hard and was too powerful so someone cursed him to secure a spot for themselves in the emperors coven.

"One day I will find you..." he whispered softly to himself as he tried to think of who could have cursed him.

"Find who?" Hooty appeared. Hunter jumped and then scolded hoot "you gotta make more sound when you come into a room man!" Hunter yelled the calmed down.

Hooty just stood there happy as a lark. "I found you a bed Hunter!" Hunter stood up then said, "thank you hooty! Lead the way!" Hooty smiled as he slithered through the rooms to the upstairs.

He led hunter into a big room with a window that had a giant eye on it. In the middle of the room there was a small twin sized mattress with a blanket on top.

"Thank you Hooty this is perfect!" Hunter said as he made his way to the mattress "No problem! It's just nice to have someone to talk to again!" Hooty said as he slithered back out of the room so Hunter could sleep.

Hunter laid down on his side and stared out the multicolored glass window until he slowly fell to sleep.

🥀 1 year time skip 🥀 

Hunter was flying through the boiling rain, escaping the from the emperor's coven. Ever since he was cursed before tryouts he hated them and did anything he could to make their life harder. This time he went to far and now they were chasing him.

He flew above the boiling sea and found himself in a clearing of clouds. There was a small island that revealed it's self as if it wanted Hunter to find it. He flew to the island and took cover in the giant cylinder building that was in the middle of the island.
