Four months later

Riley's pov:

Graduation is in 2 weeks

And I don't even know what the hell I want to do with my life

Take back my father's business?

Start my own business?

Work with my cousins?

I have no clue

But Layla on the other hand has it all planned out, she wants to open a nursery, that'll be her work In the morning but starting from the evening she'll be a work-from-home programmer

Her therapy really did open her eyes on her future

I've been going to her therapist too, for about four months and I'd be lying if I say it hasn't helped

Austin's messages haven't stopped but I've been training on my reaction to them

"Love your mother will castrate me if you don't stop this" I heard Caleb groan downstairs

Right, They've decided on 3 months there and 3 months here but this month Caleb has been staying in California suspiciously long this time usually it's only a week or so but not a whole month

If he did tell Layla she hasn't told me and honestly it's not even my problem

there's nothing else new

"Look what I got!" Lilly barged into my room

Yes and that too...Lilly has been staying with me for two months now because apparently New York schools have already graduated

"It's your favorite I know, I saw it in the market and knew I had to get it" Maltesers

"HOLY HELL GUYS COME HERE" Lilly and I rolled our eyes at Caleb but went to see what he's yelling for

As soon as we went down Layla came out of the kitchen with Waffle hot on her tail

"If it's something stupid- what on earth happened here

The pillows were laying around the stuffing out of most

"She did it" Caleb gave Olive to her mother

"Dada" Olive pointed at Caleb

Layla had her mouth hung open while Caleb smiled

"Her first words were 'dada' you're here for proof" he pointed at Lilly and I

So Olive's first words were 'Dada' at 10 months old, noted

"And here I was about to make a cake! Thanks alot for the mood lifting" Layla playfully rolled her eyes

They've been co-parenting really great too

"You've upset your Mama love, I ain't the one giving the food but I'm pretty pleased with this" Olive pouted before laughing directing her pretty blue eyes at her mother

"Mama" she gave a toothless grin

Layla stood there shocked while Caleb acted upset going on about how he couldn't have his moment but between you and I, he was happy and discreetly giving her adoration looks

I know that look of adoration more than anything, I could put my finger on it anywhere

I miss it

My therapist says I need to focus on myself and I've been doing that...very well actually but you know...you sometimes miss a feeling, even if it brought much pain you can never forget the love that came with it
