Chapter 13 - heartwarming snowmen

Ralph's POV:

I wake up, henry huddled in my chest as our legs are intertwined under my blanket. i slowly pull away, trying not to wake up henry. I sit up a bit and check my phone. it was 8:39 in the morning, i look outside and see that it had snowed last night because our whole neighborhood was covered in snow. but at least it was still sunny, Sunny but cold. as ralph was dazing out the window, henry woke up. blinking a few times before groaning a bit.

H - "mm.."
R - "mornin henry, what do you want for breakfast?"
H - "i'm not hungry..."

henry pulled the covers over his face and hid himself from the sunlight. i just fidgeted with henry's hair as he fell back asleep. i then got up ,grabbed my phone from my nightstand and went to the kitchen to make myself some pancakes. i sat down on the dining table and scrolled through my instagram feed as i ate, a message from henry popped up on top of my screen. i opened it and saw him being all excited about the snow -

I stuff the pancakes in my mouth before chugging my almost finished glass of milk.
i grab my phone and go upstairs, when i open my bedroom door, i see my blankets on the floor and sheets all messed up. Henry was spacing out as he stood infront of the window, admiring the snow. i thought it would be funny to scare him so i slowly crept up to him and pounced on his shoulders.  He's shrieked and pushed me, i landed on the bed and laughed

R - "HAHAHAH"
H - "SHUT UP RALPH.., ITS NOT FUNNY!!"

henry went red from embarrassment and just rolled his eyes, he turned back to the window. I held together my laughter and stood besides him, i put my arm around him and kept poking his cheek with my finger

R - "First time seeing snow in forever huh?"
H - "mhm.., and- stop poking me!"
R - "why"
H - "because it's annoying, now stop it twerp"

I groaned and went to my closet.

R - "wanna go outside?"
H - "sure"

Henry put on his jacket and sweatpants, then he looked at me in confusion.

H - "aren't you gonna dress up? it's cold outside bozo"
R - "nahh, i'll be fine"
H - "you say that but in a few hours, you'll be laying in bed like a paralyzed zombie"

Ralph just shrugged and they both went outside, throwing snowballs at each other and they also built snowmen. As they were just about to head inside, they saw louise walking down the pavement.

L - "Hey guys!"
H - "hi lou!"
R - "hey"

Ralph's POV:

Lou? since when did henry ever make up that nickname for him?? ugh, he's sooo annoying. I swear, louise just gets in the way of everything. this sucks, honestly. That stupid dick doesn't deserve to be with henry, or even anywhere close to him.

*snap*

H - "Stop spacing out retard"
R - "whatever, let's just head back inside. i'm cold"
H - "mm alright, bye louuu!"
L - "bye henry!"

henry headed inside as i stayed outside for a few for seconds, i drew a heart with the initials R + H on it behind their snowmen. i stared at it for a quick moment, feeling my face heat up as i blush slightly. henry called me in so went inside and accompanied henry inside the kitchen. I start to make hot chocolate for the both of us as henry unzips his jacket and throws it on the dining chair. I put marshmallows in my cup while henry prefers just whipped cream on it. we sit down on the couch and decide on a movie to watch.

H - "oooo, how about the black phone?"
R - "it's still day out, can we watch it tonight instead"
H - "sure but your gonna have to bring blankets down here because you might fall asleep, like you do everytime we watch a movie"
R - "i do not!"
H - "uhuhh"
R - "oh just shut your mouth!"
H - "hahaaa"

3rd person POV:

They playfully argue while henry skims though their recommendations on hulu. Henry found a show they can watch and they sip their warm drinks. an hour passes and as they were watching, ralph seemed that he couldn't pay attention because it looked like he had something on his mind that was bothering him. Henry noticed that.

H - "Somehting on your mind, ralphie?"

Henry said, he didn't look away from the tv screen. Ralph slightly blushed at the nickname, hiding his small smile.

R - "no.. not really"
H - "mm, you can always tell me yknoww"
R - "yea yea, it's just a little stupid thought. that's all, really"
H - "alright"

once ralph felt his fluster go down, he looked back at tv. It was silent for a little until henry spoke again.

H - "was it because i gave louise a nickname?"
R - "..."

Henry looked over at ralph who had his head turned away, henry ginned at him because he could see the red tint on the corner of his ears. Ralph knew that henry was looking so he just slowly nodded. henry just chuckled

H - "You jealous or somethingg?"
R - "..no.."
H - "uhuhh. look, nothing is gonna get in the way of our friendship. and that's that. besides, i know when your lyingg. i picked up on your habits a LONG time ago, ralph."

ralph sneezed twice, making henry suspicious if he was sick. Henry got up and placed his hand on ralph's forehead and his other hand on his own forehead.

H - "i knew it, you got a fever. it's rising too"
R - "i'll be fine henry"

Henry rolled his eyes and dragged ralph to bed.

R - "i'm fine! really! besides, i've had this cold before you even came"

Henry didn't listen and plopped ralph's blanket on him, he went back downstairs to make tea and get some pills in the kitchen. Ralph felt nice and warm, especially because henry was caring for him.
