Night took over Pandora and the helicopter was long gone from the sky. Calls of
creatures chittering echoed throughout the night, only making Jake even more paranoid than he already was. He held a small container of matches in his hand as he took off his flannel wrapping it around the tree he had carved into a spear soaking it in sap. Aware of the viper wolves, but unaware of the female na'vi tracking him as he went along.

Y/n's POV :

As he barely kept the viper wolves at bay, y/n was considering her options. Earlier she had said for neytiri to head back to home tree while she continued to trail him while giving her a fake lie to deliver to her parents. So she could continue to trail him without interfering, or she could eventually help him. As she made her decision she readied her bow getting ready to defend him, not wanting him to burn down the forest trying to defend himself.

The creatures got closer and closer backing Jake up and climbing trees fully surrounding him by now. He tried his best to cover all of his blind spots but failed to do so as he kept flailing the fire around almost scraping and burning a few trees in the process.

"I don't have all goddamn night. Come on! Come on!" Jake yelled. And in a fury the viper wolves snarled and charged at him. Jake smacked the first one that came at him the creature yelping in pain. As another one charged at him as he impaled it with the end of his spear. I cringed at the noises feeling horrible for having to kill the viper wolves but I continued to make my way down from my hiding spot to get to him.

One viper wolf finally jumped on Jake snarling at him and trying to get at him as he struggled with keeping the creature at bay. He finally got a good hit in slicing the creatures neck and quickly getting up in a swift motion as another one grabbed ahold of his leg dragging him down before yet another one jumped at him trying to bite at him.

As he struggled I readied my arrow and in one swift motion the creature now laid lifeless with an arrow with f/c feather's logged into it's neck. As Jake tossed it to the side ready to take a stab at it he noticed the arrow logged into the wolves neck as he looked up surprised to see me as I readied another arrow with ease as I jumped over the tree stump ending another viper wolf's life with another arrow. And with another motion I took my bow swinging it hitting another one as it cried out in pain before scurrying away.

I hissed as one came tumbling onto me as I quickly readied my knife as we tumbled I quickly ended it's life with a grunt. Before scurrying quickly to get my bow as I poked a few more wolves with the end of my bow trying to swat the rest of them away not wanting to see any more of them die for no reason. I swung my bow once more as I hissed bearing my teeth my ears going flat and my tail swishing wildly.

Jake stood behind unsure of what to do behind y/n with his knife ready to attack if he needed. Once I was sure the pack of viper wolves was gone for good I turned and shielded my eyes from the burning flame that was going as I whispered under my breath in na'vi before going to grab the spear and put the small flame out in a small lake nearby.

"Hey, wait. Don't!" Jake yelled upset by the fact I extinguished his only source of light. As I continued to ignore him making my way to the suffering creature that lied beneath me. As I put my knee on the wolf I mumbled a prayer "I see you, brother. And I thank you. You are free to be with eywa." And with that I slid the knife into the throat of the creature ending it's suffering as I closed it's eyes.

Jake payed no mind to me as he went to go retrieve his spear I threw into the water. As he knew there was no way it was going to re light now. As he lifted himself out of the water he looked around and saw what he failed to see before, bioluminescent lit up the forest glowing brightly. He started in awe at the sight as I went around checking making sure no more animals were suffering without my knowledge. I then sat down in front of another dead wolf whispering another prayer.
