Outside of the bar in the small alley, Dabi led himself and the new recruit, Hawks, over to the door on the side of the building that was the entrance to the bar.
Hawks looked around and hummed. This must be their hideout.
The flame villain pushed the door open and gestured the hero forward.
"Come on," he said impatiently, sparing only a moment before walking through the door. Hawks followed him inside.
The wing hero looked around the dimly lit bar as he stepped inside. Dabi had closed the door and was now standing off to the side, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket.
Hawks scanned the room, locking eyes with all of the villains. He knew of almost all of them — he had seen their profiles. The only one he didn't recognize was Giran, who met his gaze with a simple smile.
The room was dead silent and all eyes were on the winged man.
"You brought us the number two hero?" Magne sounded questioned.
"I tested his loyalty, he took Best Jeanist out of commission." Dabi shrugged nonchalantly.
"I hope you're not compromising us Dabi," Shigaraki said dryly, pointing at the flame villain accusingly.
Silently, Toga slipped out of her seat and over behind Hawks. She reached out towards his wing, curiously running her hand over a few of his larger feathers.
Startled and uncomfortable, Hawks quickly pulled his wing away from her grasp. When did she get there?
"It would be wise to behave yourself, Toga," Mr. Compress said, "we wouldn't want him to think we are breaking character."
"But I wanted to play with his feathers. They look so cool on TV," Toga whined as she went to sit back down.
"Why do you want to join the League and what useful things can you offer to us?" Kurogiri looked to Hawks, gaining the latter's attention.
"Well, to start off, I'm the only one of the heroes that understands you people. The world needs to change, and"—Hawks gestured towards the villains—"I think you guys have the right way of going about it.
"I can't say any of this to the Safety Commission, since obviously that would get me put on surveillance and that wouldn't help anyone. No one's gonna listen to words right now, and I'm a man of action.
"As the number two hero, I have inside access. I can provide you with information. I would be of good use to you."The hero looked at Dabi awkwardly, and he looked at Shigaraki.
"Think he's useful enough?" the flame villain asked plainly.
Shigaraki narrowed his eyes at the former hero, staring him down for a moment before leaning back and shrugging. "Sure, why not. Just keep an eye on him."
"Fine," Dabi groaned.
"Great job, Dabi! Can't wait to work with the number two hero." Twice shot the patchwork man a thumbs up.
This mission may not be too bad, Hawks thought. It's a rowdy group, but I can manage.
"We will need contact information," Kurogiri said pulling out a pad of paper along with a cheap pen.
"Yeah." Hawks walked over to the bar and took the pen from Kurogiri's wispy hand, using it to scribble his contact information on the pad of paper.
He handed the pad of paper and the pen back to Kurogiri. The warp villain pulled out a cell phone and tapped on the screen, briefly looking back at the pad of paper as he did.
