PHILOSOPHER.
Chapter 11.
╚═══════════

"I'm jealous" Lorenzo confesses to both Mattheo and Harry, both of them are to be the youngest players in a century. Harry playing as a Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team and Mattheo playing as a Chaser for the Slytherin Quidditch team.

"First-years never get to-" Ron gasps to Mattheo and Harry. Of course it would have to be Mattheo and Harry that got this honour.

"I know" Mattheo grins back to them. He loves that he has something that he's finally good at. He hasn't been able to cast any spells yet, but he can outfly every other first-year except Harry.

And the attention that it's getting him from Imelda isn't too bad either. Mattheo making the Quidditch team as a first-year seems to have impressed her.

"Youngest players in a century" Harry adds, just to make them that much more jealous. It's very James of him to rub it in his mate's faces.

As the four boys discuss the Quidditch practices, a group of unwelcome guests appear in the Great Hall.

"Oh, we better get back over to the Slytherin table. I don't want to bring them over here" Lorenzo tells Mattheo. Draco is going to be arse to them, they've accepted that, there's no reason to inflict him on Harry and Ron as well.

Mattheo and Lorenzo just sit down when Draco comes over to gloat. "Enjoying a last meal before you head back to your American hovel?" Draco muses to Mattheo.

Draco heard that Snape got involved, so that must mean that Mattheo is going to be expelled, Snape hates Mattheo.

Mattheo gets up out of his seat and squares up to Draco. He's quickly learning that strength is the way to survive in Slytherin house, not backing down from a challenge. And Mattheo has enough strength to take down Draco in a fight.

"You seem to be a lot more talk now that your apes are here to back you up" Mattheo throws in Draco's face. Draco falters only for a moment, but neither of them back down. "You cried like a little bitch on that broomstick" Mattheo taunts Draco.

"I'd take you on any time, Riddle" Draco sneers as his words leave his mouth. "Saturday night, how about a wizard's duel? I can throw you around the Trophy Room on the fourth floor, it'll give Filch something to clean up on Sunday morning" Draco challenges Mattheo. Draco knows more magic that Mattheo.

Mattheo goes blank for a moment. Mattheo thinks back to how he did so terribly in Duelling class. He has yet to be able to use any sort of defensive magic, or any magic really.

"Wands only of course, no contact" Draco knows that Mattheo won't back down, and that he can use a hell of a lot more magic that Mattheo. Mattheo's pride will lead him to his own destruction. "You're not scared are you?" Draco taunts Mattheo. He knows what buttons he's pressing with Mattheo, and Mattheo won't back down.

"Of course he's not" Lorenzo jumps in to answer for Mattheo. "I'm assuming Crabbe or Goyle is to be your second?" Lorenzo asks. Lorenzo will be more than happy to duel them for Mattheo.

Draco looks between Crabbe and Goyle, but knows that they'll only let him down. "Iris will be my second" Draco tells them. He's going to give Mattheo a challenge, and Iris will absolutely destroy anyone she faces in a duel.
