PHILOSOPHER.
Chapter 15.
╚═══════════✧₊∘╝Mattheo manages to keep the leaf in his mouth for the whole month, Artemis finishes the potion in a few days, and both of them are ready to take on the transformation. First, Artemis wants to make sure that Mattheo knows all of the risks that are involved.
And the only person that can accurately describe all of the risks to this process is the only other animagus at Hogwarts, Professor McGonagall.
Mattheo isn't sure why Artemis is dragging him to see McGonagall. For a moment he considers that Artemis may be turning him for...well anything that he's done lately.
"Bells, what are we doing here?" Mattheo asks Artemis. They don't have a lesson right now.
The Transfiguration classroom is empty. And Mattheo feels a little weird being right at the front, since he likes to sit right at the back of the classroom.
"Ask the cat" Artemis points to the cat perched on the edge of McGonagall's desk, and Mattheo fell for this last time.
The cat leaps from the desk and warps mid air into the form of a standing woman. McGonagall wearing her usual strict expression over her pursed lips.
"No need to look so shocked, Mr Riddle. You should be better informed on recognising an animagus if you elect to become one" McGonagall informs Mattheo. "I am an animagus, you needn't be surprised" McGonagall informs Mattheo.
"I should have known. I have seen you change before into your cat form. I didn't put the pieces together" Mattheo chuckles. "It still looks awesome, Professor" Mattheo compliments McGonagall.
"As Miss Bellator has explained to me, you are rather close to finishing the required steps to make your potions" McGonagall mentions.
"We just have to finish our last sets of the ritual spell, then we're going to use a Thunderbrew potion to create an electrical storm" Artemis tells Professor McGonagall.
"What are you using to replicate moonlight?" McGonagall asks.
"Moonstone and Lumos" Artemis tells McGonagall.
McGonagall appreciates how clever of an idea that is, but she's come to suspect out of the box thinking from the Bellator family.
"The transition is something that you should consider carefully. There are various advantages and disadvantages of becoming an animagus" McGonagall informs Mattheo. "Normally I wouldn't consider letting anyone below their third year attempt this transformation. Miss Bellator, I know that your family are trying to uphold a tradition. Mr Riddle, I trust you're in Miss Bellator's capable hands" McGonagall says.
Mattheo takes a seat in the front bench of the classroom, he has a feeling this is going to be a long lecture.
"There are numerous complications that could occur. You could only transfigure half way. You could do the transformation wrong" McGonagall informs Mattheo. "One of the first attempted transformations in wizarding history resulted in a wizard being permanently stuck between his human form and that of a pot-bellied pig" McGonagall tells Mattheo.
