PHILOSOPHER.
Chapter 30.
╚═══════════✧₊∘╝Mattheo, Artemis, Lorenzo and Frey make their way down to the third floor corridor as fast as they can. They manage to avoid Flich, Mrs Norris and Peeves along their way. Then they reach the dusty corridor.
It's as silent as they expect it to be, and they're thankful that there is no signs of Professor Snape having been here this evening.
"C'mon" Mattheo tells his three friends, they have a job to do, and he's keen to get it over and done with.
"Revelio" Iris calls out, and a wave of scanning magic passes over the corridor.
"What the—?" Mattheo grunts as his cloaking spell is negated. In fact all four of them come into view. Iris had heard them all coming from the end of the hallway.
Iris steps out from behind them. She's clapping her hands together slowly. "I figured it out. I figured that if you left the Common Room once then you'd do it again. I know that you're that daring, Riddle" Iris points at Mattheo. It was so easy for Iris to figure out where they'd come. The one place that they weren't supposed to come.
"And you?" Iris turns on Artemis. "I knew that Riddle would convince you to slip out of the Slytherin Common Room once again. He makes you think with your heart and not your mind, and that makes you an easy target" Iris informs Artemis. Iris sees sentimentality and affection as a weakness.
Artemis pushes her way in front of Mattheo, Lorenzo and Frey. Her wand is already drawn. Artemis has every intention of jinxing that smirk right off of Iris' face.
"Call me out all you want, Lestrange. I don't have to resort to tricks and sleight of hand backstabbing in order to win" Artemis accuses Iris. "Using Draco as cannon fodder for McGonagall, that was cold" Artemis tells Iris.
"He would do the same to me in order to get to your boyfriend" Iris says to Artemis. Draco may be malicious, but Iris is cold and unfeeling, and that makes her a lot more dangerous.
"He's not my boyfriend!" Artemis shouts.
"No need to sound so disgusted, Bells, Merlin!" Mattheo points out to Artemis.
"So, what's so important that you had to come here tonight? Are you that desperate to find out what the secrets of the forbidden third floor could be?" Iris challenges Artemis. "I have found myself wondering from time to time. What could Dumbledore have hidden down here? It's reason enough to thwart you by any means possible" Iris will stop Artemis and the others.
"There are four of us, Iris" Lorenzo points out. And ever single one of them want to get back at Iris for getting them and Hagrid in trouble.
"Check your maths, Berkshire" Iris tells Lorenzo. From the Grand Staircase, a large number of the first-year Slytherins walk into the third floor corridor. "You lost them a lot of house points, and they want to share their feelings" Iris tells Mattheo and Lorenzo.
"We really don't have time for this" Frey hisses at her friends.
"Why don't you check your maths, Lestrange?!" Delphini's voice screams out from behind the cluster of Slytherins.
