I should of never picked up my phone. J felt slightly sick but more because I felt stupid. Why would y/n lie, she could've easily just said she was with Adam and it would've been fine. She didn't have to make a dumb excuse to not see me.

I went onto Instagram in-between practices to check how the band account was going.

I didn't really want to look but honestly I think I do really like her, maybe...I don't know yet. Looking at the messages nothing seemed off about her, honestly she seemed more chatty than usual.

It was just a picture of a cute frog, which I replied with a like to. And the following messages

I'll reply to those after this song, asking if she did meet up with Adam instead.
I'd rather her tell me the truth now than it weighing on my mind over the weekend.

I really shouldn't care this much, she really owes me nothing but I dont know. I thought we both mutually disliked Adam.

"Heyy Awsten ready for the next song?", Geoff called out whilst kicking his feet around "yeah yeah, I'm gonna reply to that later" I announced throwing my phone onto the chair next to me.
"So.... how come that girll didn't come today??" Questioned Otto hesitantly.

I snapped "uhhh family dinner or something. I don't know and I don't really care" whilst putting my frustration into violently picking up my bass and tuning it. Geoff jokingly whispering "be careful with that thing, you don't wanna break the only bass you can afford right now" whilst gently holding my shoulder.

Once I'd calmed down a fraction I explained "okay, I was going to show you guys a new song I've been working on... butttt. I've changed my mind" as I began plucking at the strings trying to figure out the correct chords.

Once I worked it out I paused, sighed and played rough demo of a song I've been working on... even know its not completely ready I still sang with all the emotion I was feeling right now:

I quickly checked my phone to reply to y/n
