Chapter Six - Hangout

Mui pov

"Genya- he wants to- come over..?" I think to myself, looking at my phone while lying down on my bed.

I started twirling my hair around my fingers, it felt really nice. It's always been a habit of mine, whether it's good or bad- I'm probably not going to stop

"Ah.. I should probably put my hair in a braid or bun before sleeping tonight.. yui said it makes it so much easier to brush in the morning..

I got up and walked into the kitchen, searching through a drawer, trying to find a hair tie. I couldn't find any- crap-

I continued looking in the drawer under, maybe yui, mother or father. I mean, fathers hair is considered long, and it's always in a ponytail so he MUST have hair ties somewhere-

"What are you looking for?"

Crap- please be yui..

I look behind me to see my father. "I was just looking for a knife- I was gonna make a sandwich- '' I told him quickly. "In the drawer we put lost things?" He asks in a pissed way. "I- ah-'' I spit out. "You were looking for a hair tie, weren't you?" He says, my heart dropped slightly. "Uh.." I let out, he grabs a hair tie off his wrist and tugs my hair really hard..

"You need to cut this shit sooner or later." He tells me, tying it in a low ponytail. I just stayed still, I don't want to nod.. I don't want to cut It.. "There. Tied up" He tells me, I nod. "Leave now" He says sternly. I walk away fast, making close to no noise.

I run into my room and sit on my bed, "dad- why can't you just be like how you were when we were younger.." I say aloud. "I miss how nice you were.. I miss when you called me 'bud'.."

Yui walked in, "I can hear you- are you alright?" He asks me, I nod. "I miss the old dad too, but we can't do much." He said, sitting on my bed and stroking my hair, taking out the hair tie slowly. "One of dad's hair ties huh..?" He asks, looking at it. "How'd you.. how'd you know-" I ask. "You and I have black hair ties that are really thin. And dad uses thick red ones. And then mother doesn't tie her hair up" He says, I nod.

"Want me to braid your hair for sleep?" He asks, I nod lightly before he starts to braid my hair. "Damn I think yours is longer than mine now-" he says, "oh?" I let out in a hesitant tone. "Maybe just a tad longer-" he adds.

Then.. I went to sleep

I woke up, getting a message from genya..

"Hey mui! Should I come to yours or do you wanna head over here?? We'll do some tutoring and then head to a Cafe and get some drinks if that's all good with you"

Oh- shit I forgot about that..

"Ohhh alright, could I head over to yours? My rooms a little bit of a mess-" I reply.

It's not actually a mess, but that's because my brother is yuichiro- I just don't want my parents to find out, or get the wrong idea and tell Misaki's parents I'm cheating..

"I should go get dressed then-'' I tell myself, picking out some long blue shorts and a dark gray baggy shirt. I wear alot of baggy stuff because it hides my body. I'm really skinny and don't want anyone, especially yui to notice, but I guess a lot of people have..

"Hello..?" I say, knocking on genyas door. "Hello dear, you must be Genyas friend, right?" A lady answered, she was very kind.. she slightly reminded me of my old mother..

"Ah.. yes-" I say, she nods happily. "Uh- please don't worry if you get bombarded with questions, there are alot of little kids here-" she says, guiding me in with her hand on my back. "Genya! Their here!" She said, calling genya.

I'm guessing she referred to me as 'they' because she couldn't tell my gender due to my feminine looks compared to my voice.

"Are you genyas friend??" I hear a little boys voice speak. "Oh- hi there ah-" "are you a girl or a boy??" A girls voice said, I was being completely bombarded with questions and kids touching and grabbing my hair, "ah- please stop-" I say, trying to get their tiny ass hands off my hair. "Sorry! I swear to God. Go to your room-'' genya tells them, shooing them off while walking down the stairs. "Heyy-" I say awkwardly, stroking my hair, I hated the feeling of anyone that wasn't yui touching it..

"So.. Do you like coffee??" He asks me, I shake my head. "I don't drink caffeine- it's not good for me" I tell him. "Ahh- '' he says, "well, yours was nice but deforestation is not good for me.." I say with a slight laugh in my tone. "Well, this waiting. And I know all of your many siblings are too-" I say, he nods. Gives me a hug before saying his goodbyes.
