"Are we on a date right now?"

You looked up from eating your burger, trying not to choke. You nodded. "Yeah, we are"

Chris nodded his head. "Gotcha"

He reached over and grabbed a fry from your box. It was past midnight and you had woken Chris up an hour ago, begging him to get dressed and go with you to Burger King.

-

"Chris" You hissed into his ear. He swatted his hand and drifted back off to sleep, until your voice echoed again.

"Chris!" Chris groaned, making you aware that he heard you.

You grabbed his shoulder and shook his lightly.

"Chris"

"What's wrong?" He groaned, sitting up and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"Can we go to Burger King?"

"Sure" he answered, laying back down.

"Chris" you said once again.

"What- you mean now?"

-

And that was how you both ended up here, dressed in your plaid pyjamas. Chris' hair was crazy and yours wasn't any better.

You slapped his hand, preventing him from taking any of your fries.

"Hey!"

"You have your own food right there" you pointed to the same box of fries opposite you that he had.

"Yours tastes better"

"But- you haven't tasted mine"

"Exactly. I need to compare them" He offered, adding that he must have some of your fries.

"You're ridiculous" you said, eating your burger. You shielded your fries away from Chris' sneaky, grabby hands.

"Me? You woke me up to come here"

"Are you complaining?" You joked, knowing his stomach was happy from the food he was eating.

Chris burped in satisfaction, proving your point to which he slouches back against his seat.

"No"

"I thought so" you took a sip of your soda.

For the next five minutes, Chris picked at his fries, eating them. His lips were in a line, watching you with sad puppy dog eyes.

You felt him pull on your heart strings, making you sigh.

"Here you go" You held out your box of fries and shaking it in front of him.

Chris' eyes light up in happiness.

"Thank you"

"We should have dates like this more often"
