Donghyuck was provided with a luxurious outfit composed of a white silk shirt and black satin pants, all pulled together with a gorgeous red robe that had shiny gold symbols embroidered across the sleeves. The brunette had stared down at it in awe when Renjun had first placed it in his hands, feeling like he was unworthy of even holding such a prestigious item of clothing.

"Renjun... there's no way I can wear this. I feel nervous just looking at it... what will I do if I accidentally spill food on it? This looks crazy expensive."

Renjun just blinked at him slowly. "If it happens to get stained, then we will order the royal seamstress to make you a new one. Not to worry, Your Highness."

Donghyuck had continued to protest feebly, but Renjun waved him off and had the servants come in to remove the other clothes he had been wearing.

"Woah! I can't even get dressed by myself here?" He whined, swatting away a servant's hand when he reached out to pull Donghyuck's pants down. Renjun let out another heavy sigh—something he seemed to be doing a lot around Donghyuck lately.

"Of course not, Your Highness. That is our job, please just relax and let us help you get ready."

It wasn't like he had much of a choice anyways, so he bit his tongue and let the servants drape the fancy clothes over him. When he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror, he couldn't help but stop and stare at himself in awe. His eyes followed the line of red silk down his waist and arms, over the gold symbols weaved carefully through the fabric, down his gleaming figure and back up to his face. He truly did look regal, and for the first time he didn't feel quite so much like he didn't belong in this strange palace.

"This way, Your Highness," Renjun interrupted, grabbing Donghyuck's shoulders and steering him towards the large bathroom built into his royal bedroom. There was a hair and makeup team already waiting for him, and as soon as they spotted the omega they whisked him into a chair they had set up and got to work. Two beta women fussed over his skincare and makeup application, while a beta man fluffed his hair and styled it up and out of his eyes. They bustled around each other, working quickly in a whirlwind of whispered instructions and hushed conversations until finally they stepped away and lowered themselves into a bow.

"We are finished, Your Highness. Does our work please you?"

Does it please me? Donghyuck thought incredulously, staring at his own reflection in the mirror in disbelief. He barely even recognized himself anymore. He looked like a high end model, or like some kind of gorgeous celebrity, not like the stressed, sleep deprived college student he usually was. His eyes were dusted with sparkly, gold tinted eyeshadow that matched his robes, pink blush sat high on his cheekbones and tinted lip gloss that made his already plump and full lips stand out even more. His brown curly hair was straightened and pulled up and away from his forehead, gelled back to make him look sharp, fierce, and stunning. The more he stared at himself in the mirror, the more he could hardly believe his eyes, because he truly did look like a prince.

Like a queen.

"It... it's amazing, oh my god. Thank you so much," he murmured quickly, bringing a hand to lightly touch the top of his own head in awe. The betas all bowed again and scurried out of the room in silence, leaving Donghyuck with a rare quiet moment to himself.

Which didn't last more than a couple seconds, actually, because then Renjun was waltzing into the bathroom with a knowing smile and meeting Donghyuck's eyes through the mirror's reflection.

"You look gorgeous, Your Highness. I'm sure the king will be very pleased."

"The king?" Donghyuck parroted, his moment shattering a little. He had almost completely forgotten what he was even getting ready for. "Who gives a shit what the stupid king thinks? I've never felt this pretty in my entire life, I wish I had my phone or something to take a picture so I could remember and try to recreate it on my own."
