"One wrong step and you cou-" she says before I hear a loud rumbling and within seconds, shes gone from my view.

Shit. Shes fallen.

"Rosie?!"
"Rosie, are you okay?!"

Shes not responding.

Shit ok fuck.

"ROSIE?!"

Fuck it.

I slide down the steepness and run towards the body of water, shouting her name. No response. Merlins beard please be okay. Without a single ounce of hesitation, I dive into the water, searching for her through the merky lake. I paddle through the water, bubbles escaping my mouth as I attempt to scream her names. Praying that she hears me. I see a glistening from the corner of my eye and turn to see Rosie struggling to reach the top. I swim as fast as I can to her, pulling her limp body out from the water. As we reach the top, she gasps for air and releases a loud cough, water poruing out of her mouth. I hold her in my arms as she holds herself up on my shoulder to catch her breath.

"I swallowed so much water" she says as she continues to cough. "I thought I was going to drown". Her breathing is irrational and her legs are scrambling crazily, submerging her deeped into the water.
"Hey, calm down okay? I've got you. You're okay." I say as I pull her closer to me. Her arms are wrapped around my neck as I grab her legs, wrapping them around my waist to support her in the water.
"I was so scared Sebastian" she says, glassy eyes staring back at me.
"I know darling. I know. Ive got you". She places her head on my shoulder, holding me tight. I hold her back with the same tightness, thinking about the fact I nearly just lost her.

How could I lived knowing she died at my fault. All because I wanted to check out some worthless treasure. Worthless when compared to the life of hers. Meaningless in comparison to how much she means to me.

"Thank you Sebastian. You were so quick to come to my rescue" she says, staring down at me as I hold her in my arms. A breathe of relief escapes her mouth as her chest begins heaving more steadily. The trauma of what just occurred preventing her from feeling completely safe.
"Anytime darling." I say as I pull away and look her in the eyes.

Were staring at each other. Eyes locked and face's inches away from each other. I feel the nerves rush through my body as her face inches closer to mine. Her lips glisten in the mootlight and the thought of them connecting with mine drives me wild. So wild that I pull away, releasing her from my grip. Her legs untangle themselves from my waist as we both keep ourselves afloat. A moment of awkwardness passes through.

"We should get out of the water. Dont want us ending up in the hospital wing with pneumonia on our first week back." I say, swimming to the side of the lake.
"Right." She says behind me. I cant see her face but I can feel the pain through her voice. What did I just do?
