"So. I do actually have some information to update you with" I say.
"Do tell." Ominis reolies, sitting up in his spot. Sebastian shoots me a concerned look.
"After I left the undercroft... I went into the Forbidden Forest." I say, looking to Sebastian as I see him tense up.
"Relax, I'm fine. I wouldn't be here if I didnt have it handled. I went there to release some anger. I was so hurt and upset I just wanted it to go away. Anyway, I ended up fighting a couple of spiders and once I defeated them, a group of dark wizards approached me. Similar to my dream." I say, taking another breath.
"They were looking for me. Said something about me finally leaving the castle. They can't get me here with all the castles defense charms so theyve been waiting for my departure to make their move. Long story short, I defeated them all. Must say the didnt put up much of a fight. One wizard remained and I-" I say, ashamed by the words that are to follow.
"I cursed him. I used the cruciatus curse to get information out of him..."
Ominis looks upset. Understandable considering he has tried to refrain us from using dark magic for over a year, especially given the background of his childhood and upbringing. It pains me to see him like this as a result of my actions. It pains me to see the way he flinches at my words as he is reminded of the cruelty his family put him through.
"You did what you needed to." Sebastian reassures me, sensing my guilt as I look to Ominis. Ominis nods, not verbally agreeing with the statement made by his best friend.
"After I cursed him. He said something about finishing what Ranrok started. Thats all he would tell me and then he tried to cast his wand at me so I... I killed him" I say.The boys sit there, Sebastian running hands through his hair whilst Ominis rubs at his temples, both taking in the information.
"The figure from the Boggart. Who was that?" Sebastian asks.
"I dont know Sebastian. I havent seen its face. I dont even know for sure if its human."
"We need to find out." He says "Perhaps once we know for sure, we can find them.. or it. We can end this."
"Sebastian how are we supposed to do that?" Ominis asks
"We head outside of the castle" he replies.
"It's not safe out there" I say.
"Well we cant sit here and wait for war to come knocking on our doorstep now can we?" He says.
I nod in agreement.
"We need a plan. We cant just go wandering around in hopes we stumble upon information."
"What about your dream?" Ominis perks up.
"What about it?" I ask confused
"Well you said it felt real. Perhaps if we found the place from your drean, it could lead us to something?" He asks.
"He's right Rosie, its worth a shot."
"Okay well then we need to search the forest. I remembered the smell, it was familiar. Tomorrow night, we meet here and head into the forest and begin our search. Im sure once I see it I'll know?" I say in a tone that seeks reassurance about the plan I propose.
"Ok. Tomorrow night. Lets meet at 9" Ominis says, standing to his feet. "I'll leave you two to it." He says before he opens the gated door and exits the room."Alone at last" Sebastian laughs.
"Sebastian." I say, moving closer to him. I grab his hand in my own.
"Mmm?" He mumbles, rubbing his finger over my knuckles.
"I don't think you're selfish. I should never have said that about you. I just wanted to hurt you in hopes it would push you away. Im sorry." I say.
"It's okay Rosie." He says with a smile.
"No. Its not okay. Nothing about you is selfish Sebastian. You proved that last year with the extend you went through to find a cure for Anne. You prove that to me each time you come to my side and stick with me through all that life throws at me. I have never once truly thought you have a selfish bone in your body. You deserve so much more than what you have been given in life." I say.
He lifts his hand, cupping my cheek. He glides his thumb over my cheekbone and whispers
"Im glad you understand me Rosie." As he leans forward. My breath hitches as he connects his lips with mine. His hand remains on my cheek as mine find their way to his hair.
