SEBASTIANS P.O.V
I watch as she swallows her food, her mind elsewhere as a flood of thoughts roam inside that pretty little head of hers. What I would do to be in that head, just for a day. To understand her. To support her through whatever it is that troubles her.
Imelda joins us at the table, sitting besides Ominis.
"Have you heard the rumours?" She perks up.
"What rumours?" I say, inevitably assuming the worst.
"I cant say I have" says Ominis shortly after me.
Rosie says nothing. Instead she continues stabbing at her food.
"Have you guys seriously been living under a rock?!" She asks. "It's the talk of the school. Supposedly theres another rebellion group forming between the dark wizards. They want something within the school" she says, wiggling her eyebrows, living for the drama.Imelda is vaguely aware of what took place last year. What Rosie went through. What she did to protect the wizarding world. To the students, Rosie merely fought Ranrok off in a 'spontaneous' fight that she 'just so happened to stumble upon'. Few of us know the truth behind the story that made her so well known. Ominis, Natty, Poppy and I are the only students who truly know the tedious events, the wholehearted truth of the trauma she must relive every day. Us and the professors.
Ominis clears his throat as I divert my attention to Rosie who has now stopped playing with her food as she stares blankly at her plate. If I didn't know her, I would have thought this was new information to her, but I can see in her eyes that she's already been made aware of this so called rumour lurking the castles halls.
Suddenly, she stands from her position. Lifting her legs over her seat before stating. "I dont feel too well. Im going to lie down before class" and walking out the large double doors seperating her from my sight.
I want to follow after her, but I am ultimately scared that if I do, I will be faced with an enormity of questions from Imelda that are not mine to answer. Instead, I change the subject, disregarding the information shared.
"How hilarious was Leander Prewett being terrified of buttons!" I say with an exaggerated laugh. "Priceless"
"I couldn't agree more" says Ominis, clearly understanding my reasoning for the change of topic.
"Are you two dimwits going to ignore the fact that Rosie just up and left? Or are you purposely trying to avoid the situation?" She asks, glaring us down.As if he were my saving grace, Professor Black announces his presence at the owl alter, diverting Imelda's, as well as the other students attention.
"I have an announcement to make." He states. "After a long week of consideration, the Professors and I have decided to agree to the recommencing of Quidditch this year.". The room fills with loud cheers as students rise to their seats, pumping their fists to their and applauding. "HOWEVER." He states, causing the students to lower their frailing arms. "If anyone... and I mean ANYONE is injured as they were last time we persued a quidditch season, the game will be recalled IMMEDIATELY. Do you understand ". The students respond in unision, "Yes Professor Black.".
"Wonderful. On that note, team captains, you are to begin discussing with your peer's about when and where your teams trials will take place. The first game will be this weekend. Slytherin VS Gryffindor".Imelda shoots out of her seat cheering while eyeing off Weasly as if to say "Watch out. Were coming for you.". I admire her competitiveness, despite how aggravating it may be at times.
"I have to tell Rosie! Im making her try out and if she refuses, boy she better sleep with one eye open" she says, hopping out of her seat and running off in search for Rosie's whereabouts. Now that she's gone, it is only Ominis and I, giving us the perfect opportunity to discuss this rumour going about the castle.
"We need to speak to Rosie about this rumour" I say, initiating the conversation. "The way she reacted. It seems as if she's withholding information from us."
"I agree, Sebastian. Perhaps we should meet with her in the undercroft." He responds.
"I'll send an owl." I say, standing from my seat and heading to my room of requirement to prepare the letter.
