•°Corinne's POV°•

"Are you going to confess your undying love to the mystery boy, your always staring at, I am still suprise your attracted to another human being." Bev says, a teasing smile on her face, I felt a bit insulted, I'm human, I can also feel attracted to another living person, it's just harder for me.

"Bev, I can't really call it love, I haven't even said a word to him since he transferred here" I admit to my friend, I've only ever seen him in the library or in the school hallways. "Then what about him attracts your attention so much? You always beat up any guy that gets close to you." Beverly asked, staring at me with those eyes of her.

"The way his eyes furrows when he's reading, the look he gives when he focuses on something that interest him, how his eyes lights up when he smiles, I could sit here and tell you everything, but we don't have enough time" I stated, unknowingly, I had a smile on my face.

"So your stalking him?" Bev asked me, still giving me that teasing look. "I'm not stalking him, I'm just able to find him easily in a crowd." I said, smiling at her innocently.

"Corinne, can you sign my yearbook?" a girl who is with me in one of my classes asked, walking up to us. "Sure. Bev, I'll catch up with you outside, okay?" I said, putting an end to our previous conversation, I felt like she was judging me for liking someone, because I've never liked anyone before this, it was all new to me, and it felt like my best friend was making fun of me.

"Sure thing!" Beverly said, walking away.

•°Ben's POV°•

Pulling out my bike from the bike stand and carrying a project wasn't the easiest thing to do, I got distracted, seeing Corinne's bike still there, moving backwards, I hoped I get to see her atleast once. I didn't  realise I was standing in the way of those behind me.

"You gonna let me go by? Or is there a secret password or something?"

My head whipped around only to see it's Beverly Marsh, Corinne's best friend, who spoke up.

"Oh... Um, sorry." I muttered.

My project fell to the ground, breaking from the impact.

"Sorry isn't..."

Trying to pick up my fallen project, I had to let go of my bike, making it also fall to the ground, I wished I could hide my head somewhere.

"... a password."

I felt so embarrassed as I picked everything up.

"Henry and his goons are at the west entrance, so you'll be okay." Another voice spoke up from behind me, turning around slowly, only to see Corinne looking straight at me, with those blue eyes of hers. "Oh, I wasn't..." I tried to explain myself. "Everyone knows he's looking for you." Beverly said, she looks at Corinne, "some more than others." she added.

Corinne came closer to me pointing at my headphones. " Can I hear, what your listening too?" She asked, I didn't know how to respond, as she takes them off my head anyway, putting it on. I was scared she'll think I'm weird and judge me for the music I listen too.

"New kids on the block?" Beverly asked me, I was only able to nod my head, wondering how she knew.

"I don't even like them, I was just..." I tried to denied.

"My all time favourite! Looks like we have something in common Ben." Corinne said, cutting me off mid sentence.

I could feel my cheeks go red, I was flustered and surprised that someone knew my name, and that person happens to be Corinne Summers. "You know my name?" I ask in disbelief. "Of course, we're in social studies together. I'm Corinne and that's Beverly." she said, with her usual bright smile. "Yeah, I know that, and like you said I'm Ben, but pretty much everybody calls me..."

"The new kid. Well Ben, there are worse things to be called." Beverly says, sounded like she was trying to reassure me I could have been called a lot worse. Corinne suddenly grabs my yearbook out of my bag, I didn't even notice my bag was open.

"Let's sign this for you." She stated with a smile on her face.

Corinne gave it to Beverly, who signed it first. Corinne signed it after, but it looks like she was writing something, it made me curious.

"Stay cool, Ben from sosh class. Cori, I'll see you tomorrow." Beverly said her goodbye, walking away in a hurry.

Corinne has gotten her bike out the stands too, she turned to me smiling. "I better go too, I hope to see you around new kid on the block!" Corinne said to me, waking the opposite way from Beverly.

"Please don't go girl That's the name of another new kids on the block song" I said, I had no idea where the sudden courage came from, but I was glad I spoke up, because Corinne stopped in her tracks, looking over her shoulder, straight at me, I only felt butterflies.

"I know, and I wished I didn't have to go, I would have loved to stay in your company a lot longer than this, but I have something important to take care of." She said, with a wink, before she started driving away on her bike, leaving me behind, a blushing mess.

•°Corinne's POV°•

Arriving at my dead quiet house, was no suprise to me anymore. Silently walking in only to see my mother passed out drunk on the coach again, whiskey bottles everywhere.

I took the blanket sitting on the other coach and threw it over her, ever since dad left, she's been a complete wreck. I really hoped one day things would be a little normal-ish again, for now I'll only silently look after her.

I ran to my room, deciding it's for the best to lock myself in there for the rest of the day, laying on my bed, listening to new kids on the block and my mind being taken over by thoughts of Ben, before I fell asleep cuddled up with my blankets.
