🎈CHAPTER 38🎈
•°Corinne's POV°•
"Eddie. Eddie." Richie mutters, after it was over, making his way over to the injured man, the rest of us hot on his tale. "Eddie. We got Pennywise, man." Richie tells him, crouching down infront of him, but there was no movement from the other male.
Richie reached out touching his cheek. "Eddie?" He asks, and that how I knew he was gone, probably from all the blood he has lost from the hole in his chest. My own tears, kept on running down my face, we've lost another dear and brilliant person in our lives.
"Richie. He's gone." Beverly says softly.
"He's all right. No, he's just hurt. We gotta get him outta here. He's hurt, Ben. Bill, he's okay. We just gotta get him outta here. Bev. Cori." Richie says, having a hard time grasping the idea, that Eddie was no longer with us.
"Richie." Beverly says.
"What?" Richie asks.
"Honey, he's dead." She tells him. "We have to go. Come on. Come on, Richie." She adds.
"We gotta go." Bill says, only then did I notice that everything around us has started falling apart, this place is part of Pennywise, and since he's dead this place will start falling apart.
"Come on, buddy. Come on."
Richie pulls Eddie's body into a hug, the rumbling around us started intensifying with each passing second. It took the men pulling Richie away from Eddie. Things started crumbling down upon us, as we ran, going through the cavern, climbing up the wall, and running through the sewers, climbing up the well, and we quickly ran out of the house.
"Eddie!" Richie yells, trying to run back to the house, but he was held back.
"No, no, no!"
"Eddie! We gotta get in there and get him! He's still in there!" Richie shouts, the house started crumbling and breaking down, disappearing for good, the only thing that was left, was a big giant hole.
"Eddie! Eddie!"
After all that we ended up at the quarry, motionless and sad. We ignored the signs, taking off our shoes, and jump straight in, swimming towards the spot we always use to swim together.
We stood there in silence, washing off all the blood and dirt, that has gotten on us. "You know what? Eddie would have hated this, guys." Ben says sadly.
"What? Cleaning ourselves in dirty water?" Bill asks.
"Yeah."
"He would be telling us, we would get some weird disease, like streptococcal or something." I say, having the others chuckle at that.
"Yeah, but he would have made us laugh, though." Mike says.
"Oh, yeah." Beverly says in agreement.
"He'd be looking out for us. The way he always was. Ain't that right, Richie?" Bill asks, only for Richie to start crying loudly, covering his eyes from us, so that we won't see him crying.
I moved closer to Richie, with the others, giving him the comfort he needed at this moment, he cried loudly, we comfort him in silence as our own tears were falling.
"Oh. Thank you. I don't have my glasses on, so I don't know who you people are, but thank you." Richie says, making the rest of us laugh, but turns out he was being serious as he says, "I legit can't find my glasses."
"You're serious?" Beverly asks.
"Glasses?" Ben asks.
"Go that way."
"Around here somewhere?" Richie says uncertain.
Bill and Beverly searched one side together, Mike was looking behind Richie on his own, and Ben and I was looking at the other side of Richie.
I spotted them under the water close to Ben's feet. "I can't see them." Ben says, since the water wasn't clear it was pretty hard to see where they were.
"I see them, they're right there." I say, pointing towards where I have spotted them.
"Where?" Ben asks.
"Right about... Here." I say, Ben looked down, only for me to push his head underwater, Ben didn't let me get away with it, pulling me underwater as well.
I swam down, grabbing the glasses, I turned towards Ben who was getting ready to go back up, I got my courage together, grabbing his shirt pulling him into a kiss, Ben immediately started kissing back, it's been years, but his kisses still felt the same.
It was full of love and passion, and those were the best kind.
After the quarry we took a walk through town, I held onto Ben's arm, afraid if I let go, he'll disappear.
"Hey, guys." Beverly says, holding up her hand. "Look." It was the hand which had the cut made into it, the scar was gone. I looked at my own hand, to see my scar was gone too, and so we the others scars.
"Nothing lasts forever." Mike says, when we looked towards one of the shops, and the funny part was, it was like our younger selfs were staring right back at us.
