Chapter 33

This was fucked up

First of all he shifted at a young age second of all his fur is freaking blue and red

It's a good thing that neither the Omegas were present otherwise this would have cause an out roar

I mean, I've seen black ,wolves ,auburn brown wolves ,grey wolves, I've heard of white wolves but blue and red better yet a mix of that

It's like giving birth to a human baby that is orange in colour

If that happened, the child would probably be taken by scientists to carry out experiments or wouldn't be able to live a normal life if he or she is with other humans

One thing that hit me instantly was that little Charlie wasn't ordinary

And because he wasn't ordinary that meant that his parents weren't ordinary either, meaning, he came from a powerful family but how did he even get to this orphanage if that was the case

My thoughts stopped rushing through when I felt something soft and slightly heavy jump into my arms.

That scared me for a second but then I realized that it was just Charlie

He seemed to recognize me judging from how he nudged my hand and whined softly

"Hey there little one"

He let out a soft bark and that made me sigh

Despite him looking very peculiar, he was kind of cute and soft

"Now look what we have here. Your fur coat is an icy blue and a fiery red. You are pretty cute though" I laughed as I rubbed his belly.

I let him discover how to use his new four limbs. It was kind of funny and cute though, especially when he'd forget what he was mainly planning to do and start doing something else.

After he was all worn out, I decided to take him back to my room, for safety purposes, at least untill he changed back

The reason was because I didn't trust anyone apart from Bella.

Bella soon returned after collecting herself and gave little Charlie a check up

Apparently she had undergone some medical training and had some skills.

After confirming that everything was alright with him, she called me to the side

Judging from the way she looked extremely stressed and her heavy sighs, I could tell that what she was about to say wasn't anything good

"Charlie is definitely not normal"

She began as she ran her fingers through her hair

"Tell me something that I don't know Bella"

"Well this is definitely not going to end well, that's for sure"

"Can't we just keep this secret between the both of us"

"There is a reason why I said that this would not end well Andrea. This news is supposed to be reported to the high council immediately. Charlie's kind had supposedly died hundreds of years ago, so this discovery could change a lot of things"

"What do you mean by, 'his kind died hundreds of years ago'"

"There was a war. A power struggle rather. Little Charlie's kind was at the top of the hierarchy for nearly thousands of years but then, there was a rebellion. Due to the thirst for more power and a desire for a new ruler, three of the most powerful packs decided to join together to take down Charlie's kind

They also had a spy who happened to be the King's own youngest brother. Through him, they were able to take down the king and the entire pack.

It was rumored that they were poisoned by their one and only weakness and right when they were at their weakest, the three packs' warriors struck"

This information left me speechless

"That was just cruel "

"That wasn't the only cruel part. The children and other survivors were caught and all of them were slaughtered "

"This is the more reason why we need to hide Charlie "

"Andrea, you do realize that hiding Charlie isn't the solution. He needs to be placed in a safe house where he would get all the protection that he needs because of any one of the three packs find out that we are having a survivor, they will do anything and everything in order to get rid of him"

"Bella there must be a way to prevent them from taking Charlie"

"Then what do you suggest Andrea? It has to be a really good and solid suggestion otherwise it might cost both of us greatly"

I thought of all possible ways that this situation could be handled however all of them proved to be dead ends.

This was bad. This was extremely bad

"What if we both keep silent about this. At least until when Charlie is a little bit older, then we can tell the elders because first of all ,what he did is currently impossible, the shifting part.

What if he's taken into a lab where they would prod him with needles and do multiple of tests on him Bella. He is just a child Bella, we can't just let some strangers take him away

What if they hurt him or even worse ,what if they try to kill him if they conclude that he is a threat ?

He has nobody right now apart from I and the orphanage, heck, how will he survive all alone ?"

"Andrea, you're overthinking this. I'm sure that the council will offer him protection, shelter , education and meals.

They definitely won't try experiments on him, gosh I know that we are animals but we would never do that to anyone.

And besides, I'm sure that he will be much safer when he is with the council.

Plus he would get a chance to harness his abilities comfortably."

"Bella I ..."

"Don't you want Charlie to be safe Andrea? Don't you want him to be able to harness his gifts and embrace them fully without any fear and oppression?

He can't do any of these things of he remains here. You yourself know this Andy

You need to let go"

I was left speechless once again. I had no comeback or anything to say that would make Bella change her mind

She was going to inform the council.

And I had to accept it

My silence was enough for Bella to conclude

"Six months. I'm giving you six months to prepare Charlie. That's the least that I can do "

I gave her a weak smile and nodded

I walked back into the room and watched as Charlie slept.

He had somehow shifted back to his human form which was a relief

However a wave of grief hit me. I felt a wave of sadness wash over me.

No no no. Now is not the time for this

I needed to be strong right now and not weak.

I needed to be sane and stronger

For both Charlie and me
