A few weeks passed since the fated day. When they went back from their little getaway, the first thing they did was tell Jake's children.
Thankfully, they were elated by the news.
Neteyam congratulated her, Kiri and Lo'ak celebrated their triumph with a little dance while Tuk squealed and hogged Tawn to herself. They were so welcoming that Tawn cried from their conviviality.
They ended their day with the usual Sully dinner but with Jake being more affectionate to Tawn in front of his children.
After that, Jake wanted to tell Tawn's family, but she opposed it, she convinced him to tell them a bit later since Ronal was focusing all her attention on her pregnancy.
Tawn felt like she was on cloud nine. Jake was there beside her almost all the time.
When she was with her students, he sometimes dropped in and said hi before discreetly giving her some little gifts like flowers or even pretty shells.
When she stayed in to make some bracelets or other crafts, he was there, sometimes with Tuk and Kiri, helping her through her day.
When she was hunting or riding on her ilu, he was there too, with Neteyam oftentimes accompanying her.
His presences were everywhere, and he seeped into her daily life like it was the easiest thing to do.
If her heart was his before, now he had her whole soul and being.
"Tawn, why are you smiling like that?" Tawn blinked her eyes multiple times, snapping her out of her daydream before focusing her attention on her sister.
She was helping Ronal in preparing the baby's arrival, making clothes and other necessities for them.
"What? I'm not blushing," Tawn glared at her sister's smug look.
Ronal raised her eyebrows, seeing right through her, "what happened? I know you, Tawn'kiri, you've changed," Ronal noted, "you're happier now. You look more healthy and radiant, and you have that glow of someone in love," she teased.
Tawn rolled her eyes at her sister's guess, "you're just reading into it too much, sister."
Ronal turned to grab something from behind her, "Tawn, you can tell me it's okay," she persuaded.
Tawn sighed, looking at the open entrance of Ronal's marui, she wanted to tell her, but she wanted Jake to be here with her.
"Jake and I are a thing now," she conceded, looking anywhere but at her sister.
Ronal suddenly let out a boisterous laugh, "oh, finally, Tonowari is going to be my little helper for a whole week. Thank you so much, Tawnie," Ronal grinned, inching closer to her sister and hugging her, "congratulations, I'm so happy for you," she smiled.
Tawn grinned at her and nodded, "thank you, sister," she smiled, grabbing her sister's arm around her front.
"So, what have you two been doing? Did you bond with him yet?" Ronal asked, wiggling her eyebrows at Tawn.
Tawn scrunched up her face in disgust before pushing her sister away playfully, "first of all, that's not something you should know. Second, we haven't even properly kissed," Tawn confessed, her face changing colour.
Ronal looked at her, not believing a word coming out of her mouth, "how long have you been together?"
"Two weeks?" Tawn grimaced.
"And he hasn't kissed you?" Ronal asked incredulously.
Tawn nodded, continuing her work on the baby's blanket, "well, he kissed me but not on the lips. He kissed me on the cheek, on my forehead, and my nose," she shrugged, "why does it matter anyways? I love it, it feels more romantic," she smiled to herself.
